Trump’s picks during his first term were disastrous almost across the board.

That's a coordinated propaganda attack.

Circular Reporting** hoax technique. Here’s how:

1. **Initial Publication with Unverified Information**: The Wall Street Journal published a story claiming Steve Witkoff was in Russia receiving Signal chat messages on his personal phone, suggesting possible Russian interception. The passage implies this claim was unverified, as it was false—Witkoff didn’t bring his phone to Russia, a fact that could have been checked.

2. **Citing the Original Report as Fact**: Other major news outlets, such as CBS, quickly published stories citing the WSJ’s report as their source, treating it as credible without independently verifying the claim. CBS reportedly published its story minutes after the WSJ’s, indicating reliance on the original article rather than original reporting.

3. **Amplification Across Platforms**: The passage states that “every major news outlet” spread the story, echoing the WSJ’s claim. This widespread repetition across multiple platforms gave the unverified story the appearance of credibility, as the same narrative was reinforced by various sources.

4. **Lack of Independent Confirmation**: No outlet independently confirmed the key detail about Witkoff’s phone before publishing. The false claim gained traction through repetition rather than evidence, a hallmark of circular reporting.

5. **Appearance of Legitimacy**: The repeated citation of the WSJ’s story by other outlets created a false sense of legitimacy, making it seem like the claim was well-established when it was actually unverified. The absence of retractions or apologies further allowed the story to persist without correction.

In summary, the media used circular reporting by rapidly spreading an unverified WSJ story across multiple outlets, citing the original report as fact without independent verification, thus amplifying a false narrative and giving it unwarranted credibility. A position with no authority. These are always given as political rewards.

So 5 bad hires? How many high-level positions did Trump appoint?

The negative always outweighs positive in people's minds, especially in hindsight. One bad hire will get the attention while ten good hires are ignored. The belief that Trump made tons of bad hires is simply a perception issue. It didn’t help that the media constantly pushed that narrative as well.

What a stupid fricking question

That’s your opinion. I think it’s completely fair to ask that question. I’m not sure why you are a complete dick to every person who questions anything that Trump does.
