Soccer cleats for flag football?

I'm thinking about going with soccer cleats instead of football cleats for this flag football league that I'm in. I have no practical reason for doing this. I just like the look of them. Pros/Cons?
ETA I ask because I've never played a game of soccer in my life. Just football/baseball through high school and college.

For real? I watched the whole game and didn't hear them say anything about that.

I wore them for flag football, but that was because it was what I already had.

I don't know why people would wear regular football cleats for flag football. Soccer cleats are lighter. Maybe I don't understand football cleats all that well as a concept but what advantage would they give someone?

I haven't put on a pair of football cleats in several years. But from what I remember, they fit a little higher up your leg for less ankle exposure. It seems like football cleats are getting lower and lower though.

Depends on what kind of football cleats you get. Generally speaking WR/DB cleats are low profile and light. LB cleats are generally heavier with more ankle support. I think the main difference is the cleat pattern. But generally speaking soccer cleats are lighter. I know several guys I played flag with that wore soccer cleats.

American football cleats have extra studs intended to keep traction while blocking or otherwise struggling to move another person. Soccer cleat patterns are designed to allow you to move quickly while keeping traction, but you would not be able to engage and move an equal person who is wearing American football cleats. I know for sure that they have an extra cleat under the big toe (or did 6 or so years ago). Steve McNair, former Tennessee Titans QB, used to wear soccer cleats because of issues with his feet that the extra stud under the big toe aggravated.

I remember in youth soccer they used to check our studs. My first pair of cleats was actually a pair of football cleats that were handmedowns, and I had to saw the extra stud under the big toe off to make them legal.

Played flag ball for several years now. Great idea if you play on natural surface. Not horrible on field turf, but regular football rubber stud cleats are great for dry field turf.

More and more NFL/CFB WR's and DB's are wearing soccer cleats because they're lighter and more responsive.
eta: But yea like someone else said, if you're a lineman, they're not gonna work all that well.
