Yeah that has nothing to do with Gregg. If we are ever truly elite, it will take another few generations of academy development and a strong program structure.

I think everyone got drunk off the possibilities when Pulisic broke through in 2016. I recall many think pieces from writers and the blogspace of how he wasn't some freak talent and that we would have 10 players of Pulisic's level in the next decade...

Thought that was wild then and that's only been confirmed because here we are 8 years later and Pulisic is still the most talented USMNT player in the pool.

Also, holy shite, it's almost been 10 years since Pulisic's first cap.

We are being handcuffed by equity. The coach of the women's team can't make less than the men's coach.

I challenge you to find another match in copa history where a team went down a man 15 minutes in and won or even tied the game

Not Copa but I will give you a World Cup.

The score was tied 1-1 at half with both teams playing with 10 men.
In the 47th minute with the score still tied one team took a second yellow and were playing with 9 men for the rest of the game.

The team playing with 9 held on to the tie.

That team was the USA.
The team they held to a tie was Italy.

The year was 2006 and Italy would go onto win the World Cup.

Y'all can argue amongst yourselves about whether our players the other night were on the level of the 2006 players but we cannot argue that the 2006 Italy team is anywhere near the level of the Panama team. Lowered expectations equal lessor results.

@cwill177 Chile just held a 0-0 tie against Canada with 10 men from the 27th minute.
