Bolivia lost its 13th straight Copa América match dating to 2015 and has one win in its last 31.

Y'all are underrating Ecuador. If they didn't have a man sent off, they would have won imo. I still think they win the group.

How did Bolivia get so bad, weren’t they competitive in South America for a while?

No not really

They were kinda good like 20 years ago.

Panama and Uruguay watching USA

I gotta say, it’s pretty endearing how much you want the US to fail because of the coach.

It was a comprehensive performance against a team we should have a comprehensive performance against. Good to see, now the big question becomes how do we build from it.

Man I hear what you’re saying, but we were far from the level of play we should expect from this squad

A comprehensive performance would have seen us score 4-5 goals.

You're never going to be happy watching soccer if this is ever your expectation, especially in the first match of a tournament where we had heavy rotation to keep guys fresh.

This is a marathon and we came out of the blocks with a solid performance anyone being overjoyed by it and anyone being depressed by it need to relax.

ETA: Through 8 matches in CONMEBOL WCQ, only one team has but 4 or more goals on Bolivia so far and that was Brazil... we're not Brazil.

Need to treat this tourney like a big opportunity for us being that it’s the only great competition we’ll face in a competitive setting rest of the way until WC 26 and a lot of these guys will be on that squad.

we could’ve/should’ve netted more goals. Bolivia is bad and even Panama can beat them by multi goals if they’re playing for something.

Zero excuses we need to beat Panama. If we don’t have a knockout place cliched going into matchday 3 we run the risk of not advancing on GD if Panama somehow keeps it within a goal of Uruguay tonight. We’re one of the younger national squads and they need that knockout level experience against a Brazil/Argentina/Uruguay.

ETA Uruguay already up 1 early so that’s good

I don't think anyone entering this tournament came in thinking a draw with Panama would be fine.

It's Panama.

I didn’t say that I expected to win 4 or 5-0.

I said we easily could have tonight, and that a “comprehensive performance” would have seen that scoreline.

We won handedly in a match where we controlled every single aspect of it with the other team not having any real scoring chances.

It was about as comprehensive as you can get. Which was expected considering the difference in quality of the two teams.

Regardless, this group doesn't start in earnest until the US/Uruguay match, and even then, who knows how the two teams play considering both should be sitting on 6 pts and already through to the knockouts by then.

Feel like we’ve plenty of times seen draws or worse against Panama over the last decade. Not acceptable at a tournament of this level

Then why did Pulisic play all the minutes?

Last time we played them in a match that mattered, we beat them 6-1.

We should and will 100% beat them.

That's your defense when we subbed out our entire midfield?

Your beef should be with Pepi then (and maybe our centerbacks)

How pissed do you think Balo was when Pepi gets a sitter 30 seconds after coming on. Balo finishes that and we are talking about how we finally have a Striker again.

most of these people won’t be happy with anything with Gregg at the helm.

I don’t think he should be managing this team. I also think we just dominated every facet of a match against an inferior opponent with 60% possession and 20 shots, 8 on goal with 4 of those being high quality chances sent right at the keeper. at a certain point, if you’re looking for perfection, you’re going to miserable no matter what

Yeah, Pepi screwed the pooch today. That one he clearly botched and the two other chances he kicked right at the goalie. Should bury two out of three at this level.

I understand having that mindset, what I don't understand is why keep watching the USMNT with Gregg if you're going to be upset no matter the result? Like that just doesn't seem healthy mentally.

My stance with Gregg has always been he's a very meh coach. I'll shite on him when the bad shite happens, but I'll also point out the positives when they do happen. It's really not that hard.
