I'm trying to recreate a functional database for some construction tracking tools and reporting. This isn't some huge set of data and can be done in something like MS Access...which I've already done. It looks like I can migrate this to the dataverse power app and I've managed to migrate the tables already.

Looks like MS Access is going the way of the dinosaur.

All that being said I'm looking for a reliable primer on dataverse that will allow me to create forms, queries, reports, to make this an online tool I can share with the team. I don't want anyone to tell me how to do anything but if you could point me in the right direction for learning resources it would be appreciated.

TIA

I've tried promoting copilot on some of my inquiries and it just makes me want to start drinking again.

I built a few PowerApps apps for our company. I went with the Canvas app version because it gives you more freedom. I used SQL Server, but the script logic will be the same as updating Dataverse I believe.

Here are a few links that may help. The first is a from-the-ground-up tutorial to help you get started and the second link I've used to find great script examples.

Microsoft’s Learn documentation is surprisingly useful for stuff like this. Very comprehensive. Pretty much anything you want to know is somewhere in there

Thanks. That second link looks like a fantastic resource

I'm going to dive in this weekend and see if I can sharpen my skills some

I have a feeling this forced change will be good for growth. I don't feel like I've learned a lot of new tricks in the database world in the last few years since my previous employer didn't really need me to build anything.

This is actually what the OP should do. ChatGPT has saved me a lot of time. Could I eventually have figured it out on my own? Sure, but when you are already know what direction you are trying to go and an idea of how to get there it can help you map the course.
