I am looking for an internet provider and the main one for my area is Spectrum.
I am looking at their prices and they seem fair. My only question is should I just get the $49.99/month internet package if my wife and I only plan on having youtube tv through a Roku box?
I have a Roku (downstairs), fire stick (upstairs), and a router. Just need to get internet set up.

Yeah 100 mpbs should be plenty for you.

Yeah. Just prepare for the price increase after a year. I think unbundled the internet shoots up to $65 a month

I don't have extensive experience with Spectrum, but some family I recently visited had it and Spectrum had a pretty decent Roku app for streaming TV without needing to rent a cable box. You might see if they have Internet/TV bundle pricing that beats Internet alone plus YTTV. I know if I were a new customer to my current internet provider the Internet/TV bundle would be significantly cheaper than Internet + a streaming option like YTTV.

That's what I pay. The service is solid but the equipment the rent to you sucks. I used to have to reboot every day or two but bought my own cable modem and router and it's Rock solid now.

I used Spectrum for 3 years when I lived in Dallas and this was my exact experience.
The basic cable/internet bundle is going to be cheaper than internet alone + YTTV, but I would still go YTTV. They won't add on hidden fees or jack up the prices suddenly.

I have it and the 100 mbs dl is over 200 mbs dl here, and its $44.95 a month, but it is supposed to go up after a year. Just have the supplied modem and buy a high-speed router rather than rent one

I had Spectrum for almost 3 years. I just got rid of it a couple of months ago. Overall, it was fine. Had several issues the first month, but after that I rarely had an issue. I started off paying 118/month for internet an the silver package. Right before I cancelled, I was paying 160 so I decided to switch ISPs and go with Youtubetv.

I had Comcast for years, in multiple states. Atlanta, Jacksonville, and Portland. I cut the cord and used a combination of Comcast Internet and PS Vue, but I started to exceed Comcast's data limits and had to pay $50 extra to avoid overage fees. This was on top of the base $70/month internet charge.
I switched to Frontier FIOS, which was 100 MPS up and down, for $50/month. PS Vue was $44.99/month, so I was under $100/month, total.
I moved to Indianapolis, and Spectrum is $44.99/month. I now have YTTV. Still under $100/month and I have everything I need. Haven't missed an LSU football game all year.
I have my own router and modem. My internet comes into my detached garage, and I have a Google mesh network that carries the signal into the house. No problems, yet. I would think the first sign of issues would be that my streaming TV shows would start having buffering issues, but so far, no problem...

I have UVerse but am calling Spectrum in the morning. Getting really tired of Uverse’s shitty internet.

My wife has Spectrum in the apartment in NYC (Queens) and when there aren't issues in the area, it runs like a scalded dog. There have been a few times when I have gone up there and there was some issue going on locally. Not sure if that's a ding on Spectrum or on the assholes who cut the cables trying to get free tv/internet.

I was on the 100mbps for $45 plan here in Dallas. Called to cancel when I was switching to Frontier and they gave me 400mbps for $45 for three years. That plus yttv works out nicely.
