I live approx 42-48 miles from the broadcast towers. Right now I am using a small GE yagi type antenna with a preamp. I get strong signals from UHF channels, but the few VHF signals are weak and pixelate unless conditions are perfect.

Have done a bunch of research and something like the large channel master or wineguard antennas would probably be best. But they are big and I worry about wind damage. The Antennas direct Clearstream 4 max gets rave reviews and has 70 mile range according to their web site. It would sit on a 30 ft pole. I just worry about it having a single VHF element.

I have the 2V Clearstream works great in a 20 mile radius. My dad had the 4V out in the sticks about 35 miles from towers and it worked great outside and mounted on roof.

I'm a similar distance as you from my towers and my NBC and ABC are VHF Channels. I have tried a 4 bay in my attic and on my single story chimney with poor results. I bought Wingard old school antenna and mounted it on my chimney and got about 45% on my VHF channels. I then added a Channel Master Amp and that double my VHF reception up to the 80-90% range on VHF channels. My UHF channels have never been a problem with or without the amp. My old school antenna has been up since 2008 and wind has never been a problem including Tropical Storm force winds and a F3 Tornado a couple of blocks from my house.

I have a Channel Master CM-7778V3 Titan 2 Medium Gain TV Antenna Preamplifier or a Channel Master Ultra Mini 4 TV Antenna Amplifier, TV Antenna Signal Booster with 4 Outputs for Connecting Antenna or Cable TV to Multiple Televisions (CM-3414) would probably work well.

My antenna is similar to a Winegard Platinum Series HD7694P Long Range TV Antenna (Outdoor / Attic, 4K Ultra-HD Ready, ATSC 3.0 Ready, High-VHF / UHF) - 45 Mile Range HD Antenna.

A good quality amp is key in my experience.
