Blurry videos iPhone 13 pro max

Just got this phone about a week ago. Every time i take a video, the phone seems to constantly auto-focus which results in several seconds of blurriness in each video. I upgraded from an iPhone 8 and never had this problem. Of course, the pictures and videos were not nearly as crisp and clear as they are on this phone, but I never had any issues with blurriness due to movement while videoing.
Also, I cannot easily and quickly take a clear picture. When trying to take pictures (especially of my toddlers who are constantly wiggling), the phone takes FOREVER to get into focus. It makes it very difficult to capture quick, “in the moment” pictures. Again, I never had this problem with my iPhone 8.
I connected with online apple support last night and they found no issues with the phone after running diagnostic tests. The only suggestions they offered were to install the latest update for the phone (I did) and to exchange the phone since it is new.
I googled and found a few different threads of people complaining about this issue. Has anyone noticed this problem with the iPhone 13? Do you think this is something that can be fixed by Apple with a future update? Trying to decide if I should trade this in for an iPhone 12. I am not very tech savvy and don’t need all the “bells and whistles” of the newest phone. I just want the easiest way to get quality photos and videos
TIA

Are you using cinematic mode?

I am not. Regular “video” setting and on “1.” I’ve tried cinematic mode and the issue happens with that setting, too

Strange cause I have the 13 Pro and just went diving last week with it ( in a case) not only were my fish moving but so was I. I didn't notice any issues at all.

prob just an issue with the phone. You can't have had it long. Do you have the warranty? Just take it and demand a new one. If they won't, get apple care and then throw it against the wall.

Thanks for the reply. Glad to know it’s not happening on every 13

Yes, Apple rep told me I had 16 days to exchange this one for a new phone. I may try to do that tomorrow. Frustrating though, since this one took over 2 weeks to come in
