Hello all,

My condo complex recently voted to switch to C spire fiber from ATT Uverse .
Never had any problems with uverse in the several years I’ve lived here

Uverse is basically trying to get away from cable and go to streaming and the cspire fiber was basically the same price for us

They’ll be in our units hooking everything up soon.

I am old school and really hate going away from the cable box instead of solely streaming everything

My question is, from c-spire website, I’ll need to buy an Apple tv or chrome cast. ( I guess I’ll get the Apple TV).

Do I need to buy 2 Apple TV’s then for my living room and my bedroom ?

Also when they pitched us on this at our HOA meeting, there was never mention that we would need to buy extra equipment, kind of miffed about that.

Also anyone care to weigh in on their opinion for the cspire fiber/internet, I’d love to hear everyone’s experiences

Do you have to pay extra for their TV service? If so, compare it to DirecTV stream. Directv has TV boxes you can get with the service that work just like a traditional cable box. They are cheaper than apple TV devices, too.

From looking at C-spire's website, they do not offer TV service. It looks like they can just bundle a streaming TV service like sling, hulu, directv Stream, etc. with their internet billing.

You can pick any streaming TV service you want.

They do have their own CSpire TV that has its own cloud DVR and all that

I believe the price includes the fiber internet and the basic tv package ( which is what we had with Uverse.. internet and basic cable and you could opt to pay extra for movie channels and faster internet.. which I did)

Which is why I’d have to get an Apple TV to download that app and play it through there.

Apparently that app isn’t available straight up in the Samsung app search . Which is what I wanted to do like I do for Hulu/Netflix

Did they provide a link to that for you? I'd like to check a list of compatible devices but all I find on their website is that they can provide 3rd party streaming services. Nothing about their own TV service.

Nver mind. I found it:

Out of that list, Amazon FireTV will be the most affordable. The fire sticks are solid devices. No need to spend more unless you want enthusiast features like frame rate matching.

You can watch all their content on a Fire TV device, too, or any other streaming device for that matter. You are looking at $180 per devices vs something like $40 per device.

I have an apple TV 4k 2nd gen and love it but I dont think it is the appropriate device in your situation.

I got there internet service recently, no complaints so far.

You technically don't have to buy equipment for the TV service if you have a Smart TV that you can install the CSpire TV app on. In my experience running the steaming apps on dedicated device like Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV performs better that using the apps installed on the TV.

I have had Fire TV and Apple TV and like the Apple better. The Fire TV had ads.

I have Cspire fiber. I used their TV service for a year and moved to Directv Stream. The Cspire TV service was about 33% more. The fiber for internet is great. Just use it and decide which streaming service you want. You don’t have to use their service. It’s a la cart. 1G costs me $80 a month for access to Internet. You will need a better wifi system probably. They have one they will sell you. I bought the eero pro solution from Amazon. Works great
