For little pioneer.

Doesn't have to be fancy but at the same time Price isn't important. Something to record indoor basketball games and to study film.

Favoring the go pro 13. Do I need a mod?

Thanks.

Are you wanting to record the whole game? Or just get clips? Clips can get with a phone.

Fwiw, I recorded every game my kid played and became the official videographer for the teams. Uploading to YouTube and hudl. A cheap small camcorder would work fine when paired with a tripod. I used a sony A7s2 with a decent zoom. But I recorded for 8 years so the investment was worth it.

Wish they would get finished with that big expansion at your high school so the parking would be fixed. I suggest recording it all. My kid is a senior in college and still watches his old 8yo games. Won’t ever regret it

Whole game.

I just didn't want to record/hold phone the whole game.

Same. For 47 million dollars it better be nice.

Go buy this and don't look back.

Best Buy: Sony - Alpha a6400 Mirrorless 4K Video Camera with E 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS Lens

or if you prefer Amazon

ETA: the filters, tripod and most of the other stuff is 100% junk, but the memory cards make the difference...

Can't go wrong with this. The other thing you might consider is looking for one on marketplace with everything already. That little kit zoom lens is good and perfect for what you would want. GoPro's suck because they're wide angle and therefore hard to actually see what you want and more importantly they overheat and turn off at odd times. I would always bring a portable battery pack to run my camera, but with new batteries it shouldn't need it.

Make sure it's the 18-135 and not the regular 18-55 mm "kit lens"
