Can someone tell me why I should pay for shitty ESPN over pirate streams?

LSU vs OU we had game on the big screen using ESPN app.
Hardwired firetv 4k box on Comcast 150mbps service. Everything top of the line.
ESPN crapped out 7 or 8x in the first half and then died for about 10 minutes at the start of second half and was completely unusable. Frozen despite multiple firetv reboots.
17" laptop on WiFi sitting on the coffee table ran a flawless pirate HD stream the entire game.
Don't lecture me. Disney has $$$$ and can't fix this shite vs some guy in Romania providing flawless HD. I even tried 2 or 3 other streams and they were all perfect during the ESPN 'outage'.
Now ESPN is using HDCP to block transmission of the signal inside the HDMI CABLE ITSELF so you can't push ESPN to your TV
that right there is comedy.
YOU HAVE A SHITTY PRODUCT SO NOT SORRY FOR STEALING YOUR GAME BROADCASTS.
I am having 10-15 people over for the NCS and I'll be damned if I trust ESPN again to deliver.
Be better.

Is your blood pressure chronically high?
Has your doctor yet recommended Xanax?
You get overly upset at many things.
I never had any issues watching the LSU v OU game on ESPN+..

then you're lucky. there were dozens of threads about it during the game.

10 minutes during a critcial 3rd quarter of unwatchable TV with 6 people over? Yeah i think i have a right to be upset.
it was embarassing but luckily everyone could at least gather around the laptop until it started working again.
multipage thread during the OU game

I've never had a stream on the ESPN app work flawlessly from start to finish on any game I've watched on it.

CAD,
This probably won't help but I have the ESPN app and YouTube TV. If I have to choose between the two, I always choose Youtube tv to watch games, etc
I have a gigabit connection and randomly ESPN will get pixilated or stutter. It's got to be on their end. Now if you're watching a really random Cricket game via ESPN+ then, well, we're all shite outta luck cause that has to go through ESPN+ on the ESPN app.

Bitching about it on the TD.com tech board does what......?
That game was a rout, it was over in the 3rd quarter, hardly "critical".
I am not defending ESPN or Disney here, if their service messed up so be it. shite happens. Sorry your guests had to deal with such hardship.
You tend to start many bitchfest threads or most of your posts about tech are bitchfests. That is what I'm pointing out.

Just sign up for a free trial of Hulu Live/Youtube TV/AT&T Now/Sling TV.
I had the same issues with the ESPN app but then someone logged into their Youtube TV account and it worked fine there.
I just signed up for a free trial and will cancel before it charges me in 2 weeks.
Problem solved.

That's what I did for the Bama/UGA championship game a couple of years ago.

Because God forbid having the choice to purchase the ESPN app only puts me in the SHITTY category right?
how dare i expect them to sell me a product that works!

This is why I have cable too
Posted on 1/9/20 at 11:57 am to CAD703X
I mean since most are probably using someone else's login there's really no difference in the two.

Wait, how did you just purchase ESPN?
I have the Hulu, Disney, ESPN+ bundle, but don't get things like college football on it
