Comcast - US/DS light flashing

I woke up this morning to no internet. The Comcast US/DS light was flashing. I reset the modem and unplugged it for 10 or so seconds. I even tried plugging it in to a new outlet.
I called them and received little help. I went and exchanged a new modem (as the original was a couple of years old). Same thing. They have a tech coming on Monday.
Does anyone know what this could possible be?

It's a problem with the physical connection outside or with the connection from outside to your house. Could also be an issue with the connection from your house to the modem but less likely.
Only thing that will get it repaired is a tech.

The only other thing that could've happened is a network technician made an adjustment to the line extender beyond the tap which threw off the US/DS power and noise floor. If that's the case, you're not the only one that has called.
