I recently opened up an LLC and need to move on from my gmail account and open an email address for my business. I have a Microsoft 365 account and figured I could simply start a new email through Outlook but I cannot figure it out. Can I set this up at no cost? If so or maybe not, how do I go about this?
Thank you in advance for help.

You need to own a domain and have email tied to that.

Register your domain at godaddy.com or similar. That's what you feed into O365 for a custom domain.

Thank you. Are most websites registered through godaddy or something comparable? Does this cost $? Also, this will allow me to begin the process of actually creating a website after I have registered the domain name?
Seriously, thank you for help. This is not something I was familiar with going into opening up this LLC.

quote:Godaddy is popular but just one of many domain name registrars. You do have to choose one to register a domain in order to have a website and email.

quote:Yes. Cost depends on which TLD (top level domain like .com or whatever) you want as well as the registrar, whether it's deemed a "premium" domain or whatever, but it's generally in the neighborhood of $20/year.
Does this cost $?
quote:Yes. A lot of registrars also offer hosting services, but you don't have to use theirs.

A domain name has several types of records, and specifically you will need to change one or more MX (mail exchange) records if you want to use Microsoft's email servers. You will need to look up instructions for getting this set up with your m365 account.

I usually shop around to see who all has the best deals going at the time. I just recently bought a bigger webhosting service with hostinger and migrated my 2 other domains to it. Let me know and I can send you a link as i believe it may include a discount/promo.
Ive used godaddy, bamecheap, ionos, bluehost and host gator at times
