Cox Internet Gigablast vs. AT&T Fiber Internet 1000

I currently have Cox Internet Gigablast. I don't have many issues. I might have a short outage 1-2x per year.
I don't like having data cap though. We only use about 700 GB per month but I don't currently do any 4K streaming. We are about to get a couple of new 4K TV's.
My wife and I both work from home and are both connected to work 8-10 hours per day.
I am thinking about switching to AT&T Fiber Internet 1000. It appears to be less expensive and does not have a data cap. Just wondering what has been the boards experiences and what are your thoughts.
How do they compare in speed, reliability and support? This is in the Baton Rouge Area.
Cox Internet Gigablast:
Up to 1 Gbps download
Up to 35 Mbps upload
1.25 TB (1,280 GB) data plan
"virtually unlimited devices"
$99.99 / Month
AT&T Fiber Internet 1000
940 Mbps download
880 Mbps upload
Unlimited data plan
14 Devices Connected at once
$80 / Month

I've had it for a year. It's literally never gone down, including in the aftermath of Ida (as long as I was providing the gateway with power via UPS).

I've never seen anything close to that with Cox.
I currently use my own equipment, Surfboard Modem and ASUS Routers / AP's with AI Mesh.
I believe that the AT&T equipment has a pass-though or bridge mode so that I can use my own router.

As a caveat, your mileage may vary on speed. The node is in my back yard, and it's glass all the way to my PC's 2.5G NIC. Not everyone is going to have that.
But having true fiber with symmetrical upload is sexy.

AT&T with no Data Cap for the Win!

Regarding that "940Mbps" download figure, that's the real world maximum for gigabit. When Cox says "Up to 1 Gbps" they really mean 940Mbps like AT&T.
That being said, AT&T actually overprovisions, so if you have equipment that is better than gigabit, you'll see improved bandwidth, like in Joshjrn's screenshot. I get those same speeds if I hook up to a 2.5G network card. But my firewall device only has a gigabit port so I have to forego that extra little boost unfortunately.
Cox's upload is severely limited in comparison to AT&T's, so AT&T wins by far.

AT&T also includes HBO Max with their gig fiber at no extra cost, at least for me.
It's a slam dunk

Yes, AT&T Fiber is a no brainer
Their customer service sucks, but the service is so top notch you’ll never have to call
And HBO Max for free

Go with at&t 300Mbps plan. Save the money. You wont use the extra bandwidth. With overprovisioning you get 370/370Mbps.

How do you get around the gateway?

Hbo max is no longer included.

I just got Cox and my gigabit plan has unlimited data. I didn't even ask for it and they said it was included. In the Lafayette area, just in case it's helpful to anyone.
Edit: looked at my first bill and it's not unlimited. Cap is 1.25 TB/mo. $70/mo

Are those the promotional prices? If so, make sure Cox doesn't have some sort of "buyout clause" before switching. If they do, AT&T may over a credit, but it's be good to know before pulling the plug.
Just checked the NOLA area and their gigablast is $120/month with a $90 promotional price for the first 2 years. For an extra $50/month you can get the unlimited plan; $170/month standard, $165/month for 1st 2 years
They finally have GB available for me cheaper than I pay for my 300/30 (grandfathered in) plan; pay $105/month. Just need to make sure my hardware can handle, before I make the switch

I have had a very good experience with Fiber 1000 from AT&T until about 2 weeks ago. The service is acting weird. I get around 800mb download on speedtest, but actual use like browsing and streaming is hit and miss. For example, getting buffering on all streaming services, sites that have images may take longer to load. TD emoticons, ads etc will be blank and then load.
They have basically replaced everything from the street to inside my house and even the modem and still getting issues.

Fiber is great except when it isn't. ha!
At least it sounds like they are working on it and not pretending you dont have a problem. That is a good start.
By any chance do you have their internet security enabled?

I am doing IP Passthrough to my Netgear Orbi
I am also having issues with MS Teams on my work computer. I work from home and video on Teams calls is choppy and it used to be smooth
