Damn. How long does it take Best Buy to ship something?

Bought a phone on its website Tuesday night. Still waiting to ship.
No wonder Amazon is kicking its arse.

Did you buy it from Best Buy or one of it's Market Place sellers?
BB is trying to compete with Amazon.

frick Best Buy.
Their stores have answering services. So you can't actually talk to anyone in the store on the phone. And the answering service can't answer any questions other than a possible inventory availability search.
They don't warranty or help warranty any of the products they sell. I bought a brand new surface pro 4 and a day later the pen quit working. I went in and they told me they can't help me.
First they sent me to wait 45 minutes in line for geek squad. When I got to the front I was informed that geek squad is a separate company and because I didn't pay them An extra fee they wouldn't help me.
I went back to the computer department and they told me I could try to go to the Microsoft store or I could maybe return the entire thing and get a new one. Although it's open and they'd have to check with the managers. They sell the pens there. The could have just exchanged it.
It doesn't make sense to shop there.
They have nothing exclusive, their customer service blows, and they don't offer any advantages.

I find some major seller sites are not updated timely but if you take the tracking number and go to USPS/UPS/FED EX, then you sometimes get updated info.

I haven't had any trouble with Best Buy ever.

If I had a tracking number to check.

I hate Best Buy. Took my computer in to get it fixed and I no matter how many times i requested to speak with the tech, the tech refused. All they do is take your shite back there and search for cp for two to three days before they actually work on it. Which is fine but they have horrible service.

I saw a report a few days ago that earning had exceeded estimates. They attributed this to tax return money and people buying phones in particular. I bet they are just out of stock and instead of saying such they are continuing to sell them. Best Buy is fighting to stay in the game and based on the earnings reports is doing it...for now.

Don't they price match Amazon?

Are you sure it's in stock? If it isn't, it should ship pretty fast. I'd contact them to see what's going on. Best Buy has been aggressive in their dot-com strategy to compete with Amazon, leveraging existing infrastructure (stores) to beat out Amazon shipping times by shipping product directly from the nearest store instead of distribution centers states away. It's not usual for something to take this long.

They do warranty many of the products they sell. There are many products that they will just straight up exchange for you outside of the return period but still under the manufacturer warranty period. Some products they will repair in-store or at a Best Buy service center, all under manufacturer warranty. This all comes down to what the manufacturer will reimburse them for, though, and it has to be under that manufacturer's specific strict guidelines for the manufacturer to accept the repair; if Best Buy's repairs don't follow those guidelines the warranty could be voided.
As an example, when I worked there in college, if you had a Dell laptop, an HP laptop, or an Apple laptop, and you had a bad hard drive, there would be drastically different procedures.
Dell would let us just go to the PC department and grab any brand hard drive off the shelf in retail packaging and apply it to the service order and Best Buy would get reimbursed for the warranty work performed. We'd often have these repairs done within the day.
For HP, we had to request an HP-approved hard drive be 2-day shipped to the store. We could have these done in 3-4 days usually.
For Apple, we had to pack the laptop up and send it to the service center, where employees with specific certifications that meet Apple's guidelines would repair the laptops under Apple's supervision. Getting a repair done like this easily takes well over a week.

It's very likely that employees are the Microsoft Store are allowed by Microsoft to do things that they don't allow Best Buy to do. I don't know much about Microsoft Stores as I haven't been in the retail business since they were a thing, but with Apple, we'd very often refer people to the Apple Store not because we didn't want to help the customers, but because we knew Apple had the power to help them in ways we weren't allowed to. We knew the Apple Store has a room in the back full of official Apple parts, but Apple won't sell those parts for use in individual stores, and we can't go sourcing aftermarket parts because using those parts would void warranties and piss off our business partners. We also couldn't grab things off the shelf and exchange them because the vendors keep a tight watch on our inventory and sales. The most we could do is ship the product to a service center which could take a week or two. Often it was better for the customer to just go to the Apple Store if they're in a city that has one.
Trust me, the backend logistics of running a retail operation that both sells and repairs stuff is a huge fricking mess. The average employee doesn't know how it works, only that they aren't allowed to do it.
All this isn't to say that I don't empathize with your situation, though. I worked for the company for a few years and got up to working remotely for their corporate office, and I was making decent enough money, but the biggest reason I left was a culture of overpromising and underdelivering, and when I left I posted a scathing message condemning my managers on the company message board, and burned all my bridges there

how long would it take for best buy to deny your card through email one day or a couple of minutes ?

Shipping depends on the product. I wanted to order a laptop last month and because it wasn't a popular model it wouldn't ship for like 2 weeks. I asked an employee what was up and he said they don't make special deliveries for products so you are at the mercy of their distribution algorithm. Or something.
If you were ordering a Note 10 then it should have shipped next day.
As for warranties, I bought a Samsung laptop a few years back and it malfunctioned after a month and they just gave me a new one on the spot.
I guess YMMV.

I disagree.
Best Buy ships same day and will sometimes delivery same day in select areas.
Most of the time it is within 2 or 3 days though.
The only thing I wish is they had live chat like Amazon.

I tried to buy on Walmart (seller, not wallyworld themselves) when my old old old old old 3gs finally broke when i tried to open it to change batteries after about a decade.
This happened during move of my 80 year old Mom. No landline activated at new house, and literally across the state from my landline.
Walmart business Office verifies phones before shipping due to the scam nature of both buyers and sellers. Since my phone numbers of record with wallyworld were inaccessible they completely cancelled the order! When a replacement phone was most needed, they canceled! We had appliances scheduled for delivery and a TV malfunctioning set for in home repair both within 2 days of all telecoms being unavailable.
Oh they have a short time frame to respond to email verification to their Business Office email. Short time frame as in 3 hours and then auto cancels. And they send the notice of "problem contacting for verification" through auto email outbox sending 2 hours after closing every night! WalMart Business closes 5pm CST w/out fail. Notices of errors/problems get emailed to customers @7pm CST. Then the customer orders get auto cancelled @10pm CST.
A month later i get a Survey from WalMart, I wrote back in the multiple pages of fill in the blanks reasons how they can forget my business and that i would spread the news on the crappy setup of their online model...so here i am spreading the news!
Don't use Walmart online ordering. It's a clusterduck!

I had an old school picture tube tv that weighed 200 pounds. They dropped off a new TV and took that monster down 2 flights of stairs.
In this one instance. It was worth it using BB.
