Anyone figured out the low storage problem? There are a couple threads about this problem but they are over a year old so I didn’t want to bump. None of them contain a solution.

My Firestick says I have only have 852M of storage space available. However, when I add up all the storage used by my apps I only come up with 1.4G. This means I should have like 4.5G remaining. I realize there is some operating software but I can’t believe it uses a majority of the space. For some reason my Firestick thinks there is more stuff on it then there really is.

Any suggestions? In the meantime I completely wiped the stick and will reinstall everything. Will report back with results.

UPDATE 1: After wiping the unit, reinstalling all of my apps, signing into them and starting a show on each one, I have almost 4G of space left which is close to where I thought it should be. Will update again if it changes down the road.

UPDATE 2: The storage being used is slowly creeping up. It could be just cache as we use it more. I’ll keep my eye on it.

This happened to mine before and uninstalling stuff didn't fix it. I had to do a factory reset which freed up the space.

Could be an app creating temp files and not deleting them when it closes. Tivimate was doing this on my FireTV for a while but they finally fixed it . If you go into your Manage Apps setting it will show you how much space each app is taking up and you should see which one is eating storage.

I did this, added each app usage up by hand, and it’s nowhere near the capacity it “thinks” I’m using. Complete restore to factory worked.

One of my kids TV was a fireTV and we had to reset it from time to time because it thought it was full when it was only running a few apps.

A little on the complicated side, but you can also purchase a cheap OTG cable from Amazon and move apps like Netflix, HBOMax, YouTube, etc. to a USB thumb drive.

You should be able to clear the cache in the Manage Aps area...
