Help setting up Dual Monitor w/ MSI laptop

I'm trying to help get my wife setup with a dual monitor for her laptop. She does a lot of design stuff on it with her laser machine and other stuff, so I figured she could really benefit from larger screens and dual monitors. She has an MSI GF63222 ( This one).
I'm not the best with computer spec stuff. We use these HP monitors at work ( HP 27h Full HD Monitor ) and they look great. I don't know if they are compatible with the computer. I'm assuming I'd need a docking station of some sort because based on the computer specs I don't think it could support dual monitors by itself.
I think this would be a great Christmas present for her. I don't think she'd expect it at all. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

A USB-C (Thunder bolt) multi-screen adapter/dock is what i would use. Allow her to have wired connection, multi-displays, additional usb ports if needed. So if she then need to grab and go would just need her laptop and power adapter.
I have something similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Docking-Station-Multiport-Ethernet/dp/B08NPMLW2M/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=3Q8WUCR8TOXCQ&keywords=usb-c%2Bmulti%2Bdisplay&qid=1701275242&sprefix=usb-c%2Bmulti%2Bdisplay%2Caps%2C98&sr=8-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1

looks like you can have one external via the HDMI output. if you want more you may have to use DisplayLink adapter. google "MSI GF63 dual monitors". I would probably go one larger monitor or wide monitor versus running DisplayLink.

If I go this route, does the original display of the laptop act as it's own screen and the external monitor the second? Or would it just mirror the original display? Cause this would probably be plenty sufficient and definitely more cost effective for me.
Like I said, I'm not the greatest with computer stuff.

You should be able to set it up either way. mirror what is on the laptop screen to the external screen or extend the desktop to the external screen. I believe the latter is the default behavior.
On my mac right now, but on windows you can right click on the desktop and it should give a menu with "displays" or similar as an option. in there you can configure your screens' resolution, position relative to each other, orientation, and whether to mirror or extend the desktop between them.

Thank you very much. I think that’s the way I’m going to go.
In the future, when it’s ultimately time to upgrade her computer, I’m going to try to find one that supports dual external monitors if she thinks it necessary.

Not sure about how good these are for design, but if you are looking for good (I think) alternatives monitors to look at look at BENQs. I have the typical 27" inch LED version, and I've had no problem with them. Don't think mine are "HD" specific though but look similar to these, other than the open base frame.
BENQ Site - 27" HDR Monitor
I will say that next time I'm the market for a monitor, I will probably heavily look at the large 40-45" curved versions. Been a few years that i looked at them, but they were sweet. Can't remember the brand, but one I looked at had the ability to hook 2 different computers to it, so it can be split in half. With the way the WINS11 has the ability to create a bunch of WINS by toggling over the MAX window, she can create numerous internet windows on the big screen. I messed around with it, and I had various screens to work between. If she has the room on her desk, and prices have to have come down since I looked at it, as the one I liked was in the $1500+ range at the time.
Not sure if you have good local electronics stores to go to, but check it out. Not sure how this site thinks about posting online options, but there are a few good ones out there.
Good luck.

Correct on WINS as its the "extend" option to have 3 separate screens if you have 2 monitors and your laptop screen.
How do you get it to extend on your MACbook to 2 different monitors and keep it on the laptop too? So three different independent screens. When I hook up my MB to the "docking station" that is supposed to be for MBs, I can only get it to extend to one screen. But when I just simply switch out to my HP laptop it recognizes the 2nd screen with no problem. THX

Your MB prob only supports one external screen. When I had a MB like that I ran an external GPU and 3 monitors. Now I have an M1 and it supports 2 connected via usb-c.
