How to add any Google Play App to Fire TV or Fire Stick

I posted this in another thread where the OP was seeking a way to use the Fire TV for digital signage. The apps all call for a subscription fee, either monthly, annually or by template. I thought another way might be to use PowerPoint, but it's not available as an app via Amazon. So I have a way, now, tested and it works.
You first have to set the FireTV Settings>Developer Options>"Apps from Unknown Sources" and select 'ON'.
After that, here's how it works:
Phase 1
1. Go to the Google Play Store.
2. Search for the app you want and select it.
3. Copy the entire address in the link bar at the top of the page.
4. Open another tab and go to www.apkpure.com
5. Paste the link where instructed.
6. Download the APK file.
7. Open up your cloud file sharing site of choice, like MediaFire.
8. Upload the APK to the cloud storage.
9. Copy the 'share file' link.
10. Open another tab and go to www.bitly.com
11. Paste the link you just copied. This will shorten it. Copy the shortened link, or just leave the tab open where you can see it.
Phase 2
1. Turn on your Fire TV or Fire Stick of choice.
2. Search apps and download / install 'Downloader'.
3. Open Downloader.
4. In the address bar, type in the shortened file name.
5. Click on Next, and Install the APK.
That's all there is to it. The app will install itself and it will be visible in Your Apps.

That's good to know. So what Google play apps do you put on yours? I'm struggling to think of anything I might want to put on there.

I tried the download process on a fire tablet and mediafire and Google Drive won't let me select from the download folder where the app file is to upload?

It won't let you drag and drop into MediaFire? I don't understand the question mark. Try to explain with more detail. Also, I cannot attest to this working on a Fire Tablet.
*edit - if you've got it already in Google Drive, just copy the sharing link for the .apk file you created, just paste it into the box on the Bitly tab. This will create the shortened web address for the .apk file. That's the address to use in Phase 2 when you install it to Kodi.

If you have an android phone you can download apps2fire from the play store and send them directly to the fire instead of cloud storage.
The app is listed on Amazon app store but I think it can only be downloaded to a phone, but check if you can get it on the kindle.

I couldn't figure out a way to drag it anywhere. The only options long pressing it give were to email or delete. It just went to a local files folder within the Docs app and when you went to upload on the file sharing apps that wasn't something you could upload from. The apps2fire app worked though.

Thanks. If you have an Android that works, too. Cleaner.

Netflix doesn't fit in the equation but if you have it you have to have internet. Your internet login credentials will allow you to watch espn3 games which you can access through the watchespn app on the roku. Download it, sign in, and enjoy.

Get a PSVue or Sling TV account that includes ESPN3.

You can expand your opportunities by installing Google Play store on Amazon Fire Stick. If you need an instruction, follow this guide then - LINK . Actually downloading Google Play opens up your Fire TV Stick to a wealth of new apps, including a number of streaming programs.

"Aptoide TV" store is another savior for the best apps.
Btw, regarding trying to download apps from online rather than a store I found its easiest to run "Ex File Explorer" and select the "view on PC" option. This turns your device into an ftp host. Download any android app to your pd, transfer through ftp to your device. Connect to it from your PC and transfer your apps to the download folder on your device.
