Any recommendations? Trying to stay around the $1000 price tag.

Does it have to be QLED? I snagged this Samsung OLED 65" earlier this year and am constantly impressed with it. It's a little north of what you wanted to keep the price tag at but it's well worth the money in my opinion.

I honestly have no idea what the difference between QLED and OLED is. I'm mainly looking for insanely good picture quality and a TV that doesn't take ages to switch between apps. TV I currently have in the living room takes ages to turn on and is quite slow to sift through the main menu or apps.

I am not super tech-savvy enough to explain but this article is pretty informative.

To add to this, the TV I linked is pretty snappy. I use a Firestick 4K Max for streaming but I haven't had any gripes or complains when navigating the TV apps/menus. Most of the newer models are naturally going to be a lot faster and smoother.

Touch screens in cars and TV UI have to be the biggest WTF technology wise. That, and connecting printers. You'd think by 2024, these would all be better by now.

I've always been impressed by Samsung's TV apps/menus/UI. Just seem to work well compared to other brands I've had (Sony and LG).

OLED will provide a better picture unless you are in a super bright room but will cost more $. As far as switching between apps I just use a Roku and it’s pretty damn smooth

If you’re going to spend $1000+ (or even under) then just pony up about $150 more for a fine Apple 4K TV box. It’s faster than onboard TV apps and improves TV picture quality.

Still some 2023 models available as new units at significant discounts. I'd recommend LG C3 (2023 model) OLED if you can find one.

Passing on this deal since a bunch of Samsung fans in this thread. Woot is a sub of Amazon now. I ordered a 65" C3 for <$1400 from there a couple months back and it arrived just fine.

Check your local Costco or Sams Club. They've been clearing out 2023 models.

I just got a Sony 77" OLED A80L for $1500 with 5 year warranty at Costco.

This is what we did. I was able to get the Samsung Q80CD (the Sam's Club model of the Q80C) for basically half price ($800, normally $1,500) with a 5 year warranty earlier this spring.

Some of the best tech deals I've ever gotten were best buy open box units.

For $1k, you can easily get a great 65" open box 2023 model.
