I did a search and saw many recent responses in re to IPTV and many people here seem to use it, to get thousands of channels, sports from around the world, and on and on…. wanted to aggregate the responses and see which providers you are using for IPTV, easiest way to sign up, costs, etc.. i have personally met people before who claim they were paying <$100 per year for IPTV, but at the time I wasn’t interested and can’t remember exactly who all told me that, or if they were full of shite .

*inB4 “Just another way to steal cable”.. maybe, but with the extortionate prices that Directv, Peacock, HBOmax etc etc charge AND then they sometimes make you sit through ads ?? I dont feel bad .

I listed a few on page 2 of the thread referenced above. Most have trials or cheap options to see if you like the service. You can easily get under $100 a year but the cost will vary on the number of connections (simultaneous streams) you want. So, you have to decide how many people will be watching at once and if you want to use multiview or record if your device supports it etc. Some of the more expensive services have catchup for certain channels which basically allows you to watch anything that aired on that channel for the past week, like a built in DVR. There is no need to record most series since they will show up in the VOD section.

If you are on Android/Google TV then I recommend Tivimate as your player

On AppleTV I recommend UHF or Tivimax

Some of the better providers are word of mouth only and some make you pay for a year upfront which can be "scary" as a newb worried about being scammed. I would recommend going to https://lemotv.com/ and signing up and playing with it to see how you like it. 1 stream for 6 months for $28.50 is probably nothing compared to what you are paying now. It is not the "best" and doesn't have catchup but it is solid and cheap and will let you get your feet wet and decide what you want. Once you see what is available you will be hooked.

I'm not sure since I've never tried on Roku but here is a link to try along with Google. If all else fails the $19.88 Onn GoogleTV box from Walmart does fine as do firesticks.

It's possible but more of a PIA than Firestick or the Walmart box. Most IPTV apps are designed to work with android OS and Roku uses its own proprietary OS.

then you'd be better off purchasing a cheap android stick or firetv and side loading one of the IPTV apps.

Plex ain't the greatest IPTV ux but it works pretty well and lives on all my devices so I know I can watch TV on anything.

Roku Samsung and other offer their own TV watching apps and don't like this gray area IPTV stuff and to keep Netflix and Disney happy they don't let you install those apps natively.

Roku recently relented and have several apps available in their store. I just went with a free one that works but haven't been able to get EPG loaded.

There are a few available in Roku store. Just search for IPTV. Looks like most have 7 day trial for the app. 2 out of 3 I tried do work with your own playlist but I'm not crazy about the interface.

Obtain a Firestick. Google Firestick tricks iptv. Pick one of the iptv services. You don’t need iptv smarters, vpn, etc

Activate service, scroll through channels that you like and add to favorites. There’s your playlist. Easy Peazy!

The best services are hidden. You'll need an invite to get into the ones that are super stable and don't buffer frequently. My experience anyway.
