Is a 65" Panasonic Plasma TV worth anything on the used market?

I have a 65" Panasonic Plasma TV that still has a fantastic picture. I bought it 7-8 years ago when I had a Home Theater room in my house in Houston. I dont really have a room big enough for it to have a good viewing perspective and it puts out a lot of heat in a smaller room. (my old Home theater room had it's own dedicated 2.5 ton AC so it was absolutely freezing and this was a non issue)
Is there market for these now discontinued Plasma TV's and what do you think I could sell it for?
PS- I also have a 42" inch Panasonic plasma that still runs well.

you could probably find a sucker to buy it. You couldn't pay me to come pick it up

I'm sure it's worth a couple hundred bucks. If you're curious, post it on craigslist and you'll get some offers. Otherwise go to a pawn shop...they'll definitely make you an offer and you don't have to try and coordinate with some sketchy dude on the internet.

definitely. what model number and where specifically are you located? I have a 58 inch panasonic plasma that I'm looking at now that I refuse to part with until the 4k and OLED sets give me real reason to upgrade.
in many peoples' opinions...mine included...it was a travesty when manufacturers ditched plasma for LED. It's taken many many years for the technology to get close to the level that plasma was able to produce a decade ago. what a waste.
it's for these reasons that you still have "videophiles" hunting used plasmas. but for buyers its a crapshoot to find one in great working condition and for sellers its a crapshoot in finding one of these videophiles actively seeking to buy as the rest of the buyers will likely low ball what the manufacturer marketing folks have fed them to consider to be inferior technology.

quote:Lafayette, LA..I have to go home to check but it was definitely one of the good ones. The color and picture on this thing, especially sports, are incredible unless their is a lot of sunlight. I have blacked out the game room it has been in..the biggest issue is the TV is just too big for the room.

I would actually like to upgrade to a 65 inch tv in the relative near future especially since two of my three hdmi inputs are toast. I may be able to replace the main A board and get everything working again but why not upgrade instead if I can find an S60 or any other 60 vintage Panasonic plasma right? It would probably cost about the same anyway.

I have a 65” pano that was made in 2013. I’d part with it. Disclosure though, it has 1 solid line on the left side of the screen that is not functioning correctly. If you know how to fix that & willing to pick it up I’ll make you a deal

In Shreveport? I don’t think I am traveling that far for a faulty tv.

I would be embarrassed to try to give that to someone.

It actually is probably a very simple fix of cleaning and reseating the ribbon cables on the circuit boards. But obviously that’s not close enough to me to mess with.

I currently own a Panasonic Viera Plasma TC-P50G20 and in the market for a used TV for the spare bedroom. I'm also in Lafayette.
If JennyJones does not purchase, I'm seriously interested

Mine is tc-p58s2.

I have a 55 and would never sell it. Still better pic than most LEDs

I am no longer in need of this tv. I actually picked up the exact same model from a local guy today.
Now I plan to move my 58 inch to the bedroom and take down the Visio I have in there and install it on a Loctek mobile cart that I will use in a guest room and in my back patio/pool area when we have friends and family over. Will be a great use of the mobile cart and the roku.

A 65" mid-range good condition Panasonic plasma should still pull $300-$500 in the used market. People are willing to pay for plasmas because of the outstanding picture quality that many times still beat LED/LCDs especially in contrast/black levels.
Honestly you might have hung onto to it for a couple too many year, these things were still fetching SEVERAL hundred bucks just 2-3 years ago. I know a guy who sold a Pioneer Elite Kuro 60" for a grand at the end of 2016.
With 4k LED/LCD tvs becoming so good and cheap now, it's really driven the price down on 1080p plasmas. Especially OLEDs becoming way more affordable. People price protect 65" OLEDs for under $1500 now. So yeah, a $1000 6-7-8 year old plasma is a pretty tough sell now
Still, if you want to sell, at minimum I'd ask no less than $300 and shoot for $500 if you can if it's in good condition.

As a buyer, I don't necessarily mind the lack of understanding that's driving the price to the floor. I picked up a P65S2 that was in excellent working condition with some minor cosmetic issues only on the back of the unit for $200 yesterday. Can't beat that.
