Most people know this already, but I recently ran across a person on Next Door who didn't understand the difference between YouTube Premium and YouTube TV and was frustrated.

YouTube Premium is a version of YoutTube without ads and has some original programming. YouTube TV is a cable replacement service and has live TV and DVR features. You get pretty much the same channels as you would with cable - ESPN, HGTV, Fox, CBS, ABC, local channels, etc. Hulu and Fubo offer similar products.

I like Youtube TV. I chose it over Hulu because it comes with PBS. Youtube doesn’t have Bally Sports.

Have used YTTV and Direct TV Stream

DTV Stream is more expensive (I think) and probably not as good to use, but it has Bally. Haven't decided if I'll move back to YTTV now that baseball is over.

I switched from DirecTV 18 months ago and I have been happy, however they have been starting to go up every year. The other thing I didn't figure into my planning was we have kids and grandparents that keep tv's on all day and they managed use all the data that Cox allocates for our Gigablast service so I had to up to a truly unlimited plan for another $30 a month.

I know you meant YouTube TV, but for about 4 months last year I didn't have an alternative cable streaming service. Instead, I found things on YouTube (not YouTube TV) to watch and was surprised by how little I needed anything else. Once I actually searched for and subscribed to YouTube channels in my interest areas, I found that there wasn't enough time in the day to watch true quality videos. If it wasn't for sports, I wouldn't need a cable alternative at all.

I’ve got FuboTV and have been happy with it. I used to have yttv but dropped it when they had their ESPN dispute. YTTV didn’t have weather channel at the time so I had to get the frndly app as well
