Low volume coming from the AT&T Uverse box on TV

I can’t figure out what is going on. All streaming services from FireTV and Apple TV are normal volume, I only have to turn it up to 20 or so. When I’m watching Uverse I have to turn the volume up into the 90s and then if there is any additional noise in the house (cooking, cleaning, etc) it’s almost impossible to hear. Anyone have a fix or know why it’s doing this?

Swap inputs and hdmi cords?

I’ll have to try that but it’s happening on multiple TVs. This makes me think it’s the AT&T box.

I have found with uverse that you have to power cycle the receivers / DVR every once in a while.
Try that

Uverse boxes have their own volume control separate from the TV.
Haven't had uverse for a few years, but lookup your remote and box model. You need to setup the box volume then adjust the volume on your tv.

Check the surround sound settings on your Uverse receiver. Change it from whatever it is set at to the other option and see if that helps.

HDMI cords wouldn't make sense if he's getting normal volume on other inputs.
Would try different inputs just to rule that out. Otherwise a quick 45 min wait with Uverse and 3 different transfers might or might not get you some results.

The cable box is probably set to variable audio output. The audio output would then need to be set to fixed output.

Thanks for all the responses
. Will be playing with it tonight to try and solve it.

Thanks man. What you mentioned worked for me. I always wondered why there was such a discrepancy in sound when using U-Verse compared to the streaming apps.
