MagicBox 2.0 Alternative for Carplay/Android Auto

Anyone have an alternative to the Magic Box that works well? Looks like there are lots of options about 1/3 the cost.

Just noting that your car already has to have carplay for these devices to work. They don't add carplay, they just make it wireless. You might already know that, but wanted to let you know in case you didn't.

Thanks. Already have Android Auto. Looking for something to stream Netflix, etc.. for some long upcoming road trips.

I went with a carplay hdmi adapter and just plug a Roku stick into that. Mine was one of the cheap POS ones on amazon and every so often the audio gets outta sync and you have to unplug and plug it back in but at least its not as laggy as the all-in-one boxes like the magic box.

I have a "CarPlayBox" that was cheap. It needs to be unplugged at least once a month, and it does annoying shite like not boot fast enough, which causes the vehicle to default to ... AM static, at high volume. I have to go and launch the music or podcast app to force it to the proper input. It's mildly annoying, but worth it for how much MagicBox costs. Oh, and I don't watch Netflix while driving
, so I don't need video.

On second look, the cheaper options may have just been adapters for the scenario you described. May look into that as well.

I went with that b/c the magic box and clones dont have enough processing power and are really laggy. That allows me to use a roku streaming stick and the remote makes it easier to navigate as well.
