New Dell Laptop touchpad issues

I recently got a new Dell Precision 7680... when I close it down at night (by simply closing the lid) then the next morning, the touchpad won't work for several minutes. Keyboard works find, but touchpad seems to not "turn on" for several minutes. Is this something anyone's ever heard of... should I call Dell or just wait a few minutes?

is the dell command updater installed? check for firmware and driver updates.
