OLED has better black levels which give them better contrast. Better contrast will mean a higher level of perceived brightness. They also have much better motion.
Most Mini-LED are Q-LEDs. They will have higher brightness and are usually much cheaper.
I think it depends on what type of person you are. If small amounts of motion blur or slightly elevated black levels bother you then get an OLED.
If you aren't bothered by minor picture imperfections then save your money and get the biggest Mini-LED you can afford. There's really no substitute for size in terms of immersion. Most people's biggest regret after buying a TV is that they should have bought a larger model not a better model.
Of course if budget is no concern then get the biggest OLED.

QD OLED. Samsung S90/95D or LG G4 if no budget.
QD MiniLED Hisense U8N is king for the money easily.

Incorrect, LG G4 is MLA which is LG's QD terminology. The C4 is WOLED.
This MLA panel debuted last year with the G3 and remains exclusive to the gallery series.

It's still WOLED pixel structure. It's better than regular WOLED but it's not QD-OLED cause it's different tech. But agree it's just as good if not better than QD-OLED.
I just have a regular old WOLED, Sony 77 A80L.

Yes MLA and QD are just layers above the panel to create more brightness and color.
Not sure it's worth the large price hike for the gallery series though but if no budget then sure why not. QD still wins for color though with more color volume and a wider color gamut. MLA gets you a tad bit more brightness and better viewing angles.

1st priority is size, get the biggest screen you can fit and afford. After that, get the nicest type you can afford.

Is the neoQLED the same as a mini, just Samsung's way of saying it?
I'm debating between the Samsung NeoQLED QN85D and the Samsung OLED S90D (Costco). It's for my basement man cave, so natural light isn't an issue, just soft recessed ceiling lighting that's dimmable.

If you are asking these questions it isn't going to matter to you. Get the biggest you can fit/afford and you'll love it.

This. The mini LED’s with local dimming are close enough to OLED’s nowadays and much cheaper. The u8n’s picture is phenomenal. I just picked up the 75” U7N after debating it or the 65” u8n, to save some money over the 75” u8.
Even the U6 looks good too (if you don’t need the higher refresh rates) and is a steal @ $650 right now for the 75”

Sony Bravia 9 introduced their updated local dimming technology and it's the closest thing you can get to OLED, but with the brightness of Sony LED. It's incredible.
For a basement though, with no ambient lighting, OLED would probably be the best option, barring any burn in scenarios.
I saw a demo of the Hisense U8N and it has some noticeable blooming.

This, especially because movies are letterboxed.
I'd trade my 77" Sony OLED for a good 85" qled, even at the cost of "worse" picture quality.

Went to Costco and Best Buy this evening, saw the Samsung 77" OLED S90D for $2200 next to the 85" NeoQLED QN85D for $1800. I think I'm gonna go with the 85" Neo QLED for my mancave basement. Costco even includes the 3 year Allstate extended warranty in their listed prices, totaling a 5 year warranty. Best Buy doesn't offer any free extended warranty beyond manufacturer's warranty. That extra 3 years for free is pretty big in my decision n going with Costco. As yall mentioned, bigger is better to prioritize these days with the piacture quality margin becoming smaller, especially when it comes to multiview game watching on YoutubeTV.
