My wife and I have had the same Samsung 40" tv for about 12 years. I was debating whether or not to go to the Peach Bowl or upgrade the TV, entertainment center, etc... and just spend mega bucks on the Natty. Already bought a Sonos Beam.

Rtings says that the 7 outperforms the 6. I just need the tv aficionados to tell me to quit being a cheap arse over a $300 difference. Any experiences with the above two televisions?

RU8000 > Q6.

Q series really starts at the Q7, a Q6 isn't worth it.

Q6 is edge-lit, Q7 is full array backlighting. Night and day difference.

Q6 has no local dimming, Q7 has solid local dimming. Also major.

I agree get the Q70 over the 60 but the 70 doesn’t have full array back lighting. The Q70 still is edge lit. They call it something like ultra slim array edge lit or something along those lines. The Q80 has full array back lighting.

The Q70 also uses frame dimming

I’d still spend the $300. Over the life of the TV that’s nothing.

It's direct lit, and they call it Direct Full Array 4X.

You are right

Forgot that was the new step up feature for 2019 with the 7. Time to learn the 2020 models now.

Thanks for the TV info. Sounds like I should pony up for the Q7.

I got a really, really good deal on a 75" Q6. Love it despite some people railing against it

I'm sure the Q6 would blow my 12y.o. Tv's doors off. Just don't wanna skimp over $300 since I obviously don't buy TVs too often.

Just got the 65” Q60R and it seems great to me. Wasn’t sure the Q70 was worth it. The Q60 has the local dimming.

Just need a solid sound bar now.

Hopefully you won’t have to worry about the Natty and you can upgrade to the Q9.
