Recommendations for 3D Printer for Family

Thinking about a 3D printer for kids to use, ages 6-12. Without knowing the 1st thing about them, what printer should I be looking at? Would like it to be as user friendly as possible and no more than $500.

Probably a Bambu Lab model.

If its just for kids to fart around on and print pre-made models off the internet then I would probably go with the Bambu Lab A1 and some spools of PLA in the favorite colors. On sale for $299 right now.
If you think any of your kids or YOU are really going to get into it, learning to model their own shite, messing with different plastics, etc. I would spring for the Bambu Lab P1S. Its on sale for $550 which is a really good deal.

I echo their suggestions of Bambu. For $500 you can get the Bambu A1 with AMS Lite. The AMS will automatically change filaments during the print for multi-colored, multi-filament prints, as well as auto refill.

I’d say buy an Ender 3 V2 at a minimum. Learn the basics. And if they want to work their way up, then spend the extra dough for a Gucci model.

A1's are too cheap with Bambu being way too user friendly, Ender isn't worth the headache that will make some people want to quit printing.

For a machine for kids (and yourself) who are just starting out. The best budget choice is the Bambu A1Combo for $499
https://us.store.bambulab.com/products/a1?variant=41583355232392
It is a rock solid printer that will print anything you can throw at it. Most of what you will print will be using PLA or PETG filaments, both of which the A1 handles with ease. There are more exotic filaments out there that require an enclosed printer, but honestly, for a kids printer you won't be printing in those filaments.
If you feel like spending a little more and getting and getting an enclosed printer, then get the Bambu P1S as others have recommended in this thread.
Bambu is as close to plug and play as it gets in 3D printing. Enders, Prusa's, etc... are all good printers but can require much more tinkering than the bambu's.
The Bambu's allow you to focus on learning how to 3D Print, whereas the others, you will spend time learning how to make the #$@#() printer work at all. For kids, you want the Bambu.

A1 combo is what you want.
Get some .6 nozzles, they are great for functional prints. Sometimes I break out the .8 for larger, functional prints.

Definitely go with Bambu Lab. Pick a model based on what your needs are.
For basic one just go with A1
