Samsung Q60 vs Q70

Going with a 65” pretty soon and wondering is it really worth the extra $200 for the Q70? Mainly watch sports (except for right now...) and Netflix, no gaming, not much 4K.

isn't the biggest difference zoned array backlighting for "better" dynamic contrast ratios?

It's always been said that the Q doesn't technically begin until the 8 series since the Q6/Q7 have edge lit backlights while the Q8/Q9 are full-array LED backlit.

Q70R is significantly better as it has full array local dimming and the Q60R is edge lit.
I assume you are talking about the 2019 models?
If you're talking the new 2020's, both the Q60T and Q70T are edge lit now, the Q80T is the first FALD offering for the 2020's.

If this will be in a room with alot of light, go for the Q80 if you can. The Q80 is a blackhole with light reflection compared to the Q60/Q70.

I was in the same boat towards the end of last year and decided to upgrade for the Q80 model. I was leaning towards the Q70 because I didn't see how the Q60 was that much better than the TV I already had. But, before I could pull the trigger I checked out rtings and was sold on the Q80.
If you have people over to watch the games, the Q80 is a lot better for side views.
If you are sold between the 60 & 70, I would definitely go with the 70.

Thanks for all the replies guys think I’m gonna pull the trigger on the Q70 as I was trying to stay around $1000.
