Security system, have a quote from Vivint

I just bought a house and I’m about to close. A concierge utility service rep quoted me approximately $3300 in cost for a Vivint smart home system which includes and LCD panel as a main user interface for AC and Alarms. 1 doorbell camera, and 2 outdoor cameras.
The monitoring service is approximately $35 a month.
Is this way to much? Do I have any other options? I really just want a security system and alarm with some cameras and motion detector inside the house.
Thanks.

It also comes with smart locks on the front door and keypad entry. So I can set it up so a service man can have a unique code to get into the house only active during the time frame I set it for.

imo, with the available DIY systems now(I have simplisafe) no way in hell i'd pay someone $3300.

That seems high.
I just bought the panels, doorbell cam, and smoke & CO sensors from them. Had them install it, that provides me 10% discount for hazard insurance. They will replace the 'life protecting' sensors free of charge when they expire every 5 years or so, they just replaced all 3 CO sensors for the 2nd time, they are about $200).
Then purchase and still the rest of the sensors I want, glass break, door/window, water, motion etc. We have over 80 devices attached to our Vivint system now.

Servicemen rarely come in to a house without someone being there. So that’s useless.

Yep. Please don't go with Vivint. A cursory search of their service will show how shitty a company it is.
Edit: I was doing some landscape work in my flowerbed and this smug looking kid walks up and starts trying to sell me on a Vivint system. I told him, "no." He puts his foot on my newly manicured flowerbed and started with a different pitch. I told him to get off my property, or he would be removed from my property.
These punks probably pressure a lot of old ladies into buying their system.

There are plenty of other companies. Vivint has annoying reps.

It is a lot of money, but that's the market. I'm comparably equipped with a local outfit and Alarm.com. I don't have the smart locks (and might not want them), though.

Why are you even entertaining anything Vivint has to offer?

Vivent is one of the worst companies on the planet. Do NOT use them.
Check out the Amazon security company or Simplisafe. I use Simplisafe, but want to swap to the Amazon one because it's only $10 a month vs $20.

First house and have never researched this topic. I cancelled the vivint installation. I have custom security coming out to give me a quote. Im still pretty ignorant but I was going to let them install there alarm and motion sensor system and have them monitor it. Im gonna see what prices they have for cameras but I’ll probably just do an add along system where I buy the cameras myself as I go.
Does that sound like a solid plan?

I'd go with Ring before paying someone that kind of cash. I've got four stick-up cams around the house, a ring doorbell, a floodlight cam pro, sensors on all doors, and almost all windows. All for a fraction of what you're thinking about paying...

+1 for Ring. Great customer service and product in my opinion. Similar setup to Royal but I’ve got the floodlight cameras instead of the stick up cams which I love. Don’t need to change the batteries as they are hard wired, can set them on schedules, speak through them, etc.
I’d visit Ring’s website and call a specialist. They can tell you what you need and 95% sure they even can get a vetted professional who can install it all for you if you want
ETA : congrats on the first house purchase. Exciting stuff!

Buy from a local company. I can recommend one depending where you live.
