Smart TV operating system features

I'm looking for a new smart TV and I want to find a good one with a full-feature operating system. Specifically, I want the OS to maintain a history of streaming services and shows/movies watched. I also want the OS to have a linked list of services to select from rather than a screen full of icons.

quote:You'll have to be more specific about "full-feature". 10 foot UIs typically lack many features by design.

Roku might show "last watched" or similar for certain apps, but I don't know about a full history. And how do you want this data presented? Do you want your watch history easy to click through for a rewatch? Or do you want it for some other reason? Watch times, etc? Home Assistant might be able to collect this data.

And just my personal opinion, I like my TV to act like a dumb display so I can bring my own OS. That way if I don't like the OS, I can just get a different streaming device for <$100 instead of swapping the whole TV.

I like Google TV on the Sony.
