Streaming CBS Roku TV

I bought a TCL Roku TV for my back patio. Have DIRECTV for cable provider, one main box in LR and one mini genie for kids playroom. Here's the issue, trying to watch live golf broadcast on CBS, so I go through the CBS Sports app on the Roku, select the CBS option. The message "Sorry, your TV provider is not yet supported in your location" pops up every time. I can watch whatever's on CBS Sports Network, but if it's on the main CBS station I get shut down.
I could get an antenna, but is there a way to stream live CBS, besides paying for CBS All Access? Moving my mini Genie out there is tough, doesn't connect well to the DIRECTV bridge from outside.

Why don't you add the DirecTV app to your Roku TV?

Then add a $30 FireTV stick, download the DirecTV app and call it good. Or download the app to your phone and cast it to Roku, or get a Chrome cast on eBay for under $20 and cast to that.

Are you sure you can get the app on those devices? I'm asking because I'm guessing that the reason it's not available on the Roku TV is that if you could just stream or cast it from anything then why pay for the mini Genie? I have a gut feeling that the satellite DIRECTV app is unavailable on the FStick and chromecast as well.

It appears you can only download the DirecTV app to phones or tablets.
DIRECTV customers can download the free DIRECTV® App onto these devices to watch their favorite entertainment:
1. iPhone® SE or later running iOS 11 or above
2. iPad® Air2 or later running iOS 11 or above
3. Any phone or tablet running Android® 6.0 API 23 software or above

The question is why is CBS special? I can stream whatever is on the “have to pay for” CBS Sports Network, but if regular CBS has the PGA Tour, or NFL coverage I’m SOL. Guess I can try and extend the wireless bridge coverage or pay for CBS All Access. Ridiculous.

Where are you located? It's possible that DirecTV doesn't have an agreement with whoever owns your local CBS affiliate for you to be able to live stream content.
