Swapping from at&t to Google Fi

I'm fed up with at&t, my signal has been shite for the last month or so. Has anyone had pros/cons making the switch to Google fi?

Google fi was good for me when I had WiFi nearby and I didn't use much data.
Granted you probably live in a better cell reception than me but I had trouble with decent cell signal.

I switched from AT&T to Fi because I, too, was fed up with AT&T. But if you're fed up because of poor cell service, Fi probably isn't the answer.

Depends on the phone you have because not all can take advantage of some of the features. Generally, I don't think Google Fi will be better than AT&T here in the Baton Rouge metro.
I'm a Google Fi user that just ordered an iPhone and will switch to Verizon soon.
The good is that it's cheap and easy to manage. They give you a 2nd SIM that you can use for a tablet for data. My current phone is a pixel and it utilizes wifi calling and can switch between cellular networks with ease.
The bad is that Google Fi mainly uses tier2 cell providers like T-mobile and Sprint. I've found that this is just fine in Baton Rouge proper and in most of Central, but absolutely atrocious in more rural areas like Livingston Parish. Also, you are blocked from using Google Voice, which isn't a concern for most people.
The only reason I'm not switching to AT&T is because my wife has AT&T and I want redundancy. AT&T was down in the aftermath of the 2016 flood which really sucked.

This. Verizon was best in my experience. I've had Fi for over a year now, and it works better overseas than in Cenla and vast stretches between Cenla and Nola.

We tried it. It sucked. Switched back to att 6 months later. Happy again

Amazing. My bill is $25 a month on average.

Whoever created Google Fi should start a cult! He is selling himself short by just being the mastermind behind a shitty product. You goobers have been behind this bullshite service for years and it's like the 30th best option when it comes to coverage plans.

I won't claim that Fi is the best or even near the top, but 30th? Come on.
For people who use very little data, it might be the best option just for cost reasons. For people who travel overseas a lot, it might be the best option just for that reason. For people who like being able to change their plan whenever they want instantly, it might be the best option for just that reason. For people who value quality support, it might be the best for that reason. For people who are tired of the bullshite other carriers (AT&T in my case) gave them, Fi is a refreshing change of pace.
Fi was very limited in the beginning. One plan and that was it. Since then they've added group plans with discounted rates, then bill caps, and most recently an unlimited plan. No, there is nothing really innovative here, but the simplicity makes it an attractive option.
There are a lot of reasons to like Fi. Just because it doesn't suit you doesn't mean it's a shitty product.

GOAT.
Imagine dropping $100+ a month for a cell phone to the terrible major carriers in the US.

You must really not use much data, because I am not one to stream a lot of video from my phone and I still use 4.5GB/mo. Here's my bills.

I pay for 2GB and typically don't use 1GB so the refund back keeps it nice and low.

how do you not use data dude
I'm streaming music nonstop

iPod Classic and I download most new albums and playlists from my YouTube Premium Music sub.
I don't know why people stream so much and have huge bills, terrible waste of money IMO. Download your shite. New phones have so much storage now.

My wife and I share 30GBs of Data on Verizon towers for $57 total on Total Wireless, and I put a PREMIUM on Verizon towers. Your $25 amount is pretty similar to mine. That is just 1 of 30 examples of what provider I could use that'd be better than yours.
I have owned my phones outright for 5 years now. I have been on over 30 carriers. I have been on MVNOs for Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and ATT.
The plan you are on is most similar to what I was on for a year called Freedompop. Freedompop used Sprint and gave me 1 gb of data per month (and charged extra if I went over).
When I was on wifi it used wifi and spilled over to Sprint LTE when I left. the big caveat to Freedompop vs FI is Freedomop was FREE. So I was getting your plan (minus T-mobile) for $0. I added voicemail for $2 so I paid $2/month.
I've used them all. This is a cult. Such a freaking dumb choice compared to the plethora of MVNOS

Similar to mine but not mine right?
Fi is fantastic bruh. I could have 6GB if I wanted and my cost would still be the same.

Fi is not a cult and it's not fantastic when you compare it to other options at the same price point.
Posted on 10/6/19 at 9:45 pm to gobuxgo5
And yet you haven't posted anything to prove that.

It uses T-Mobile and Sprint coverage so I can list the 30 options in your price range that use superior quality towers. I already listed Total Wireless giving you 30gbs shared on Verizon towers for $57 month for 2 lines. Then Verizon and ATT Prepaid and MVNOs (for instance Verizon gives you 6 gigs like you claim, plus you can use that 6 gigs as hotspot too on VERIZON towers not the shitty tmobile and sprint) for $35 month.
Then I can go through T-mobile MVNOs that give you better data price points without needed wifi
Lastly, Then I can through Sprint Kickstarter (unlimited gigs for $25/month) and then Sprint MVNO's at your price point without needing Wifi
Then I'll go into programs like FI that use Wifi too like Freedompop which is free.
So like 90 better options I can Icompare.
If we talking international usage I'll go through like 30 options. If it's Arkanasas usage I can go through 90 better options.

Incorrect, I use US Cellular towers they are the strongest in my area.
You still haven't gotten close to $25/month either.
