Tailgating Generators

What’s the most cost efficient battery pack or generator inverter you all recommend for tailgating, just to power a tv and Amazon fire stick for a few hours? Is best option just to spend 500$+ for a 2000+ watt Honda gen? Wouldn’t ever use it for anything else than this application.

What size tv do you want to run? I can power a 26’ flat screen all day with a deep cycle battery and an inverter. That’s not nearly the hassle of a generator.

Like a 32”. Seems like maybe something like a Jackery 500 watt battery pack may suffice?

Jackery 500 watt battery pack
Doesn't need to be that complex/expensive.
Step 1. Go to Walmart/Sams/Costco and buy a group 24 or 27 deep cycle marine battery with 100 or more amp hours. Group 24 is smaller and less expensive, but will have less power/amp hours. Should be around $100 for either one.
Step 2. Buy a trolling motor battery box similar to this...

Step 3. Buy a 100 to 150 watt 12DC to 120v AC converter. Something like this.

You should be able to power the TV off the outlet and the fire stick off the USB ports.
Step 4 plug everything in.
Step 5. You'll also need a trickle charger to charge up your battery after you return from the game. Something similar to this.

So for 40% of what you posted above, you can have basically the same set up. The lead acid battery will be a little heaver that the lithium's in the other power pack, but it's a worthwhile trade off. Depending on the power draw of your TV, you should be able to get 3-4 hours out of the battery easily. In addition to the firestick, you could get a digital antenna to watch over the air channels/games.

Half the power too.
Yeah, but you need less than 100 W to run a TV....

Harbor freight predator.
Just break it in and then throw out the spark plug to an ngk and change the oil.
They are fantastic.
