Venmo without phone number

Not sure if this is the right board, but it may be.

I have a personal venmo account on my cell phone. An organization, that I am the treasurer of (501c3 non profit) is wanting to set up Venmo to receive payments for various events that our group puts on. This is something the members have asked for.

We have an e-mail address and a paypal account.

My original thought was, I have an old tablet lying around, and I was going to put the organization Venmo on that. The tablet does not have a phone number, and apparently you need a phone number to verify your account.

No problem I thought, I'll just set up a google voice number tied to our organizational e-mail. I did that, and tried setting up Venmo this morning. When I try to use that google voice number, I get a message that says, "to use Venmo, we need your mobile phone number."

Anyone got any ideas on how to make this work?

Venmo is apparently starting to allow business profiles tied to the same phone as a personal profile, but this isn't available widely yet. I tried to do this and it's not available for me.
