Way to hide file from Plex

Is there a way to hide files from Plex without deleting the file in the folder?
For instance, I downloaded an album at 320kbps but found a FLAC version. I don't want the 320 in Plex but to keep it in the folder so that it can upload.

You can delete it in the Plex media player app and it will stay in it's root folder but stay off Plex.
The only issue is that when Plex scans the libraries it may add it back. It's hit or miss.
The easiest way is to create a subfolder in the root folder and don't add that subfolder.

Move all your files on that hard drive into a folder specifically for plex.. then direct plex to only scan to that folder..

1. Move the folder out of Plex directory.
2. Delete the files from Plex app and disable metadata refresh.
3. Set up a separate accounts in Plex. One that can see all, one that only sees what you want seen. Don't give that account info to anyone else.

lol..I think I mentioned a long time ago that I set up a copy from my torrent to my Plex..This kind of stuff is the reason why...Takes a little more space but not everything you download is showing on your Plex that way

Move the flac folder in a different location from your other music. Not to to hijack your thread but I have had a few recent files which plex will not pick up after renaming and plex dancing crap. Driving me crazy.
