I am noticing a lot of micro stuttering on my fire TVs running Youtube TV. I think using the app that is built into my LG tv fares a little better but still not as smooth as I would like. Would a roku be better?

Any streaming service is going to stutter some within the app on any stick. They run the beat on a dedicated device like the Apple TV 4K or Roku or shield.

I use a Roku stick on one tv and a firestick on another. Both run youtubetv just fine.

I run everything from my shields, best results for cutting the cord to be honest.

We're on a YTTV trial right now, working well.

For those using Apple TV, any tips for what works best? A little bit of a learning curve so far being dependent on Apple remote/phones, but not too annoying. I was hoping there was a YTTV interface on the phone I could use to control it on the TV, but they seem independent (I can watch on the phone, but I can't use the app on the phone to control the TV).

Is there anyway to get voice commands to easily navigate? Apple TV voice works well for most things but if it works for YTTV I haven't figured it out yet.

Thanks

It's very minor but maybe I'm just a little obsessive when it comes to video/picture quality...I only noticed the stutter when watching sports, basketball mainly

I agree, Shield is crazy powerful. I also love that it has an ethernet port, it takes the full gig I have going to it.

Fire TV, I've never experienced stuttering. I did frequently with PSVue, fwiw.

For the first few months YTTV ran well on our firetv 4k but started stuttering a while ago. I cleared data, restarted, reinstalled but no change.

It works fine on my Roku ultra

Edit: It also works fine on our lg and Visio tvs
