Can I make it? Flying from MSY to Charlotte; change planes in Nashville. I usually allow at least an hour but there are not many good choices to get me to Charlotte in the afternoon.

shouldn't be an issue, not that ive done it but from what i remember about the airport you should get around easily.

Barring any unexpected delays, you should be fine. Nashville airport isn't that big, and if I remember right the Southwest gates are all in the same concourse. I'd try to sit towards the front of the plane though for sure.

Agreed; I've made that connection many times with no issues.

You should easily make it. Nashville's airport isn't too big, and you don't have to worry about hopping on a shuttle or train to get to another concourse.
Southwest is only in concourse C of BNA. You'll easily find your gate once you exit the aircraft.

Yeah, you will be ok as long as the flight leaves on time.
Might even have time to hit the bathroom if you sit towards the front of the plane on the inbound leg.

You'll definitely make it, I would be worried about getting on with my boarding group, however.

That's not a big deal. There will be 3 of us and we're heading to a family vacation so we will be happy to sit anywhere and/or by strangers for this short flight.

Just booked the flight. We are connecting through Nashville on the way back but have a whopping 55 minutes to change planes.

Thanks everyone for your help!

If you booked on southwest, you've got 24 hrs from time of booking to cancel so no need to rush

Small sample size but my mom and sister were headed nola to philly on southwest via nashville (45 min connection). Got delayed an hour for thunderstorms out of nola, had southwest rebook them while they were at the gate for an overnight in nashville. They get to nashville on the delayed flight and turns out southwest held the philly flight 5-10 min extra in nashville for them. Great overall experience given the circumstances

I meant to type we have 55 minutes to change planEs. Oops! Yes, so our connection on the way home isn't as tight.
I'm hoping it all works out!
Thanks for the info!

Not a problem in Nashville as others have said.

when BNA was a hub for American, this could have been a problem. But much like CVG, BNA is far bigger than it needs to be given the # of departures now, so thus less crowded. You'll be fine

That must be why they’re expanding to add gates...

I am really not an expert on Nashville, BNA, or reasons city-councils are paying millions of dollars on projects.
What I do know is that my first ever commercial flight in 1987 was MSY-BNA-IAD and I have flown to (and through) BNA quite a few times since then. When it was THE major southeast hub for American Airlines, the place was hopping. Quite a crowded situation.
When AA pulled out, there were parts of it that were near ghost-town-esque. Connecting there on SWA was a breeze. If that has changed drastically since 2017/2018, please let us know.
