Antonio Gaudi works:
Sangrada Familia is amazing
Parc Guell
Casa Milla tour
Casa Batillo tour

Miro museum

Gothic quarter/ Las Ramblas is the main tourist area....watch out for pick pockets.

A more mainly locals pedestrian street is carrer de Blais (street) and is at the base of Mount Montjuic which is a nice walk up and view. The Miro Museum is up there as well as the '92 Olympic stadium. Down in the Blais area there are some great local tapas places Koska Taverna, La Chana and La Platilleria which gets very crowded.

Barcelona is also considered by some to be the European craft beer captital. I can recommend some places if you are in to craft beer.

I just got back. Going to update my post. But now on way to Mexico.

Barcelona is great. I stayed by the beach and woke to every morning and swam in the cool water. So refreshing.

Sagrada Familia is a cannot miss. So I park Guell, though I missed it and the block of discord. The food in that city is amazing. Though I didn't like the Pinxtos much. As they were reheated.

At every place.

The market on the ramblas... mother of.. God. It was so damn good. I met some other people from Louisiana and we ate all the Galacian oysters. We were putting them down. €4 each. Or 3 for €8. So damn good. Best and biggest oysters ever. The markets were amazing.
Tapas my favorite is Gambas al ajillo which is garlic shrimp. So damn good.

Barcelona is very big but you can focus on just the area within 2.5 km or Placa de Cataluyna. Cabs are cheap. Download an app called "free now" that's the local cab app. It was €5 most rides. Better than the metro.

The food is just so good. Keep eating try it all and the drinks. I mean wine, beer whatever cheaper than soda. You'll see a coke is often more than a beer.

They seem to love New Orleans there more than a few places had "poboys" and their bread is close. To them a poboy is a bocadilla with tomatoes and mayonnaise and lettuce. So damn close.

I had a great time.
Though Toledo I enjoyed the most. Because I'm a history buff.

I didn't see all I wanted to in Barcelona. The Gothic quarter and El Bon need some exploring.
We did the cable car to Montjuic and it was cool. But the line and ride killed any 2 5 hours of the day.

There is a monastery on a mountain overlooking the city all the locals said to go to buy we didn't make it.

Damn it's a great city. It's got that French quarter party vibe but is cleaner and safer.

The People are mostly nice. I'm some areas they don't want you there. But this people are few.

Have a great time. I can't wait to go back.

I'm not religious but I felt spiritual at the Sagrada. I can't describe it but I'd the design was to make you feel spiritually moved then mission accomplished.

It's hard to describe how amazing it is.
The way the facades tell the story of the passion and the nativity were very touching. I was just in awe.

It's a do not miss. Take the guided tour. Very much worth it.

De Blais has better food that's where we Pinxto hopped the cold ones were good. But most places have them sitting out for a while before you get them. So peep it out.

Also when you see street performers keep a distance. You will see the pickpockets at work.

Xup xup on the water in Barceloneta and Can Ramonet also in Barceloneta had the overall best Tapas that blew us away. But I never had a single bad tapa.

Xup Xup (a X in Catalan is pronounced Ch"

The best gambas in Madrid at Can Ramonet.

We were told by a local to stay away from Pinxtos as they aren't as good so we didn't try any.

There was a great place on the water that brewed their own. The only downside was they served American food done by Spaniards so we only went one time. But the beer was tasty. Only place I got drunk at. They had flight s and I think I tried 9 beers there but little beers. Black Lab brew house was the name.

Local was smart. They look amazing but they sit on the counter for hours and then "are heated up" I think there was one or two I enjoyed but most were just ok. Good for bar food not for destination food.
Tapas and Racciones were always cooked to order. Also tried so many Pimentos de Padron and never got the "1 in 20" spicy one.

Make reservations for the Guadi sites. We had to book Sangrada Familia a couple of days in advance. Same with Parc Guell. Make reservations for that as soon as you know the weather will be good that day. Dhe two downtown Gaudi mansions we got in after standing in a short line. The Picasso Museum was 2 blocks behind our hotel We walked over in the morning and got timed tickets for later that day.

Great restaurant city.
Tast Ller was fantastic.
Cafe De L'Academia is a romantic gourmet bistro.
Tapeo Tapas Bar was great.
Arcano and Llamber are also recommended.

Monserrat mountain is a fun day trip, it’s about an hour outside of barcelona, there are tons of tours to take you there.
The magic fountain was pretty cool, kinda like Bellagio but the show last much longer
