Anyway to get unlimited high speed data on Verizon while abroad?

I hate their travel pass BS where you get 2G of 5G and then they essentially shutdown your data usage.

FYI, I've been checking out:
Ok, so I am an idiot when it comes to tech. How does an eSIM work? Do you still use your own number and everything?

If your phone isn't paid off, you can't use Holafly, or any other e-SIM provider.
I had Verizon before 5G, and whatever work plan (400k+ global employees) I had never cut my data from LTE to 3G, no matter how long I was overseas.
But honestly, I used way less data (new company, where I had to actually pay attention to data usage,) than I thought I would. If you set your podcast app and photo app to only sync on Wifi, you'll most likely be fine. I almost never facetimed over LTE due to time differences, but dealing with photo uploads and podcast downloads solved 90% of the potential problem. And there is wifi everywhere. I did download a few apps, such as Maps.Me which would allow me to download maps for local access. They've started charging after 7 free maps, but it's only $6 a month

Unfortunately I didn't figure this out until I'd already bought the SIM and tried to activate it. I mean, I'm still paying T-Mobile, why do they care?
If you want it for free, I have a 10 day unlimited data pass for Hola Fly in Europe that is valid for I think another year I could give you. It's probably more of a pain in the arse to try to transfer it (it was only $34) than just buying your own, but the offer is there.

I appreciate it but I agree it will probably be easier to purchase my own. Thanks again

As said, how much data do you need? Do you not have wifi at your lodging? Even with say kids or downtown its fairly easy to download podcasts, music, movies, etc ahead of time for when wifi is not available and then do the bulk of your downloading with wifi.

It is easy to buy a data only sim card in Europe for about $25.
Just set up WhatsApp or something comparable before you go and you can call people with that.

It’s more keeping up with work/emails. I think the 2GB may be enough and they said they text you asking to add more if needed.
