My wife’s cousin is getting married in Greece in early September, and we’re going to spend a couple of days in Athens after the wedding. Anyone have any recommendations on places to eat in Athens? All suggestions welcome

Nikkei and Zurbaran. Let me know if you need more. These two are top of the list.
If you want to go 3 deep, maybe add Agora Select. There’s a great whisky bar nearby called CV Distiller.
Athens is a very underrated food city.

Hytra
Kuzina
Strofi
Varoulko
DiPorto (look it up)
ETA: Go to The Clumsies and/or Athenee for cocktails.

The wife and I just returned from Athens. Fantastic food everywhere. One we particularly liked was Dionysos Zonars

Thanks everyone. I did forget to ask if any of these places need reservations

Lots of great recs here. I’ll add the Psaras Taverna in the Plaka neighborhood if you want to immerse yourself in neighborhood dining. It’s a classic Greek area with tables lining old staircases. We went on a Friday night and I felt like I stumbled into another world. Food was great and amazing ambiance. We made reservations in advance.

You definitely need reservations for Hytra, Kuzina, Strofi, Varoulko and Dionysus Zonar.
Zonar is also a good call btw, we went there in May and really liked it but I forgot to mention it.
Also, research DiPorto and consider it for lunch one day - it's like walking back into the 60s.
