Beach Vacation For Family of 5

We have three daughters, 10, 8, and 6 and my wife and I would like to take them on a nice all-inclusive beach vacation either in February or early next summer. We have been to the gulf coast many times and we're looking for something bigger and better. What places would y'all recommend somewhere in the Caribbean?

Are you looking to go to the all inclusive and stay on the grounds for the week or are you looking to get out and explore a little?
Many all inclusives have similar properties in multiple countries like, Jamaica, Dominican and Mexico. Look at flights before you decide on a property. Some islands have limited flights and you will spend all day traveling there and back. Other places like Mexico have many flights into Cancun. You can been in Cancun from MSY very quickly. For a variety of activities, I really like the Mexican Riviera, but if you are going to stay on the resort the entire time that isn't needed.

We'll probably stay on the resort most days but it wouldn't hurt to break it up and explore the town a bit too.

Aruba. If you are looking for all inclusive resorts and getting into town as well.
Aruba is the safest and most affordable island of the developed carribean.

Not sure of your budget but turks and caicos is a nice laid back island. Most of the activities are water related, but you also dont have to worry anout hoodlums aggravating you and your kids.

Aruba. I just got back. Went with 9 and 6 year old. The island is clean, safe and family oriented. It is a desert island outside the hurricane belt, so no risk of a storm or even a beach day rain out. There were tons of families there and my kids made friends at the resort to play with at the beach and pool. We didn't do all inclusive. Aruba has a lot of good places to eat which were easy to get to. We spent about $100 a day on food and drinks for the whole family.

I'll have to check Aruba out. Thanks for the recommendations

The Dominican Republic has really grown in the last five years to what seems like the main place for All Inclusive places.
Not a bad flight from what I understand either.

With minor female kids I would avoid Jamaica or the Dominican Republic, my opinion.
Turks & Caicos or Aruba or Grand Cayman for the win.
Look into renting a house instead and then the USVI get onto your radar as well.
I wouldn't sweat the length of the plane travel, that's a minor part of the whole equation.
It'd be different if you were comparing travelling to Tahiti with going to Martinique.
Good luck.

It isn't the length of the travel, it is the lack of flights. A delay can cost you 24 hours to some of the smaller islands.

True, but with that understood there's no destination in the Carribean that would scare me off due to the time of the air travel. I won't book a 32 hour trip to Martinique from MSY, I'm smarter than that.

Aruba has about 30 US bound flights a day, plus you go through US Customs and Immigration in the Aruba Airport so it saves time and it is easier with kids vs going through at a major us airport.
The main reason we choose Aruba is consistant good weather and being outside the hurricane belt.
The last 2 times we went to Cancun, we got hit by a tropical storm and lost a couple days of beach time.
The flight to Aruba from Houston was a little over 4 hours.

I went to Aruba earlier this year as well. I would definitely recommend it over the Dominican Republic. It was a great place. We rented a jeep and drove all over the island. You cant get very lost. I would recommend checking out the Aruhiba cigar shop. They grow it and roll it there, but it's super quiet and personal. I wasn't sure we were in the right place because it looked deserted but I walk in and there's just 3 people hanging out and rolling cigars.

The MIA-AUA non-stop flight is 2 hours and 50 minutes, I went in March and loved Aruba.
Would heartily recommend Aruba to anyone.

There were only a couple negatives about Aruba. There are definitely lazy service people. If we got our water less than 2/3 of the way through the meal, we were surprised. Tipping didn't seem to help future service either. Some just DGAF. Also, Aruba doesn't really have much of it's own culture. It's a pretty touristy place. They don't really have much of their own cuisine or drinks - other than Balashi.

I was impressed with the good level of service in Aruba. I thought (at the time) the influence of the Dutch on the island made it more efficient than the Carribean norm.
There certainly isn't the overwhelming native culture present in Aruba as in (for example) Jamaica, that I'll agree on with you.
Aruba is stunning from a scenery standpoint, well worth a trip, in my opinion.

Its not in the Caribbean but I went to Cabo San Lucas Mexico to propose to my wife. It was amazing. We stayed at the Secrets Marquis. Its an all inclusive resort that is top of the line. Best vacation ever.

Op, your title is misleading you may get better hits if its better. Most importantly, what are you looking for specifically to take your kids to a All-inclusive to do?
All-inclusive are generally better for adults as you get free drinks and food, not something to worry about with sprites and chicken fingers for 3 kids under 10.
I've only been to the bahamas, but I live in Florida and have lived in Hawaii. If I was going to take my kids to a beach "resort" I'd do Hawaii over the Caribbean or Mexico. I just have not seen anything exceptional for kids to do in the Caribbean in mexico that they can't do in the USA.
Now, if you are saying your wife and I want to go to an all-inclusive and we want to take our kids that would be different.

St. Lucia is the most beautiful of the Caribbean islands I've been to.
