I know I know. Jackson, Ms. Now that it's out of the way.
What is the best area around Jackson to stay for one night? I'm flying in on a Wednesday afternoon in April, and I have a buddy picking me up on Thursday on the way to a golf trip weekend. Starting with 1 round at Dancing Rabbit and ending with 2 rounds each at Old Waverly and Mossy Oak.
I'm currently looking at the Ridgeland/Madison area as the safest spot and also the easiest pick up spot on the way to Dancing Rabbit. I'm open to other suggestions as well. Is it safe to stay around the airport and find a place to grab food and a drink that evening?
Any thoughts or suggestions on Hotels, or other suggestions who have done this golf trip before?

I’d stay there in flowood by the airport. Plenty of places to stay and eat there close by
Good area. And you’ll already be on Lakeland drive/ highway 25 to take you to Pearl river anyway

I would agree the Flowood area would be most convenient for you, and it's pretty safe since it's pretty much outside of Jackson. Not much up there.
When i have to stay in Jackson I generally stay in Pearl, as there's a good bit of hotels and restaurants right there.

Thanks for the help. Staying at the Sheraton at The Refuge, and I'm going to try to get an extra round of golf in at the course before my buddies pick me up.

Pearl has a nice Hilton garden inn which is walking distance to a Lone Star steakhouse and a catfish restaurant (Moss Creek) not too far down the road.

I’ve been staying at the ACE hotel in Ridgeland the past few times I’ve had to be in Jackson for work. It’s brand new and has a great bar.
