Looking for some clear water beaches between Orange Beach and Panama City.

We OBA a lot because it's easy and only 3 and half hours from BR.

Was looking for some different beaches, better water, good food and shopping, and gulf front condos.

Any recs on here?

Best bang for your buck is Destin or Miramar Beach

You’ll need a Time Machine because The best beach on that stretch is grayton beach 1983.

I mean, the options you have are:

Perdido Key
Pensacola
Navarre
Fort Walton
Destin (Miramar, SanDestin)
30A beaches (watercolor, Grayton, Rosemary etc)
Then Panama

They are all good. The best guarantee for clear water is Destin to Panama. Every time I’ve stayed in Fort Walton, there’s been seaweed. Not sure if it’s regular or just bad luck for me.

Find somewhere between Destin and Panama that you like and go for it.

We don’t go to Orange Beach anymore because you don’t know if the water is clear. It may be perfect or it may be dark. It’s always perfect further down the panhandle as long as there’s no seaweed.

Destin is still great. The condos are old but most are well maintained. Some of the beaches won’t allow you to move your chair in front of their beach chairs because destin is the only city in Florida where the hotels own the beaches via an old legislature ruling (from what I’m told). Some places in Destin are across the street from the beach and you’ll have to walk across the street. If this bothers you, go to Miramar which is pretty much Destin but doesn’t have the private beach issues.

Destin has everything you could possibly need. Great restaurants. Enough shopping. All the tourist attractions.

SanDestin is great if you don’t mind crowds. We will never stay there because of the crowded beach.

30A is awesome if you find the right place for you. It’s not condos on the beach like Orange Beach.

Panama isn’t too bad either if you find the right place but it’s hard to pass up destin.

Just don't be tempted to do PCB because the prices are a bit cheaper. That place has turned into complete crap in the past 10 years.

The water here in Pensacola Beach and Navarre has been absolutely beautiful the past year. Stunning emerald green. Pensacola Beach has Fort Pickens too which is one of my favorite places. Cool history and relics, great wildlife, fishing, several miles of undeveloped, pristine beach. Between Pensacola Beach and Navarre is also a long stretch of gorgeous undeveloped beach. You can have your own private spot if you are willing to walk a little bit.

What are you looking to do? If you want to just relax and not go anywhere then Navarre is the place for you. If you want to feel like you're close to the action then Pensacola Beach, Destin or Panama City is the place to be. If you want a golf/beach vacation, San Destin Beach and Golf resort is nice but the beach is full of resort guests and the resort is huge, it's a trade- off for being close to the golf courses. I've never stayed at Orange Beach, I heard it's nice. I did stay a week at Gulf Shores and I didn't care for it. I've also heard that Perdido Key is nice.

I normally choose Navarre because I want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I've stayed at Panama City once and wouldn't go back just because it's not worth driving the extra miles when Pensacola or Destin are basically the same.

You really can't go wrong with anywhere on the Florida Panhandle. I've been to Hawaii, California, the East Coast of Florida, the Keys, South Carolina, the Caribbean and in my opinion, the Florida Panhandle beaches beat them all. The sand is white, soft and the emerald green water is beautiful.
