Best things to do in Nashville in only 2 evenings

My wife and I are helping our son move to Nashville's Bellvue area.
We are driving up Thursday morning and will arrive around 3pm or so...checking in at Home2 Suites Bellvue upon arrival
Move in day is Friday morning and we should be done by 3pm as well.
Driving home Saturday morning in order to work Sunday.
We will have 2 evenings free to do things, and was hoping to hear about some "must See/Do" opinions
I'm sure we will be back up to visit again, so the list can be long, but looking for input to do for the 2 evenings
Thanks,
Pepp

Id honestly stay away from downtown and the tourist traps. I like going to Radnor Lake for a hike. Franklin is a cool little town not too far away from where you are staying.
If you dont want to travel the roads too much and want to go downtown id recommend the country music hall of fame. They always have pretty good exhibits.
Pancake pantry is good for breakfast but touristy. Loveless cafe is good but also touristy now.
Belle Meade plantation has a restaurant that is pretty good I think. can't remember what is called.
Tons of options in the gulch too.

I’d go hear some music. I don’t like bro-country so I’d look at Roberts, the Ryman, the Bluebird or maybe somewhere off the beaten path.

We used to own some rental units there. Bellvue's a great up and coming area. You'll be happy he's living there.
Ton of stuff to in or around the area. About 20 minutes to downtown. 10 minutes to the Warner Park system. Miles or hiking. There's a greenway trail you can bike on that will partly go along the Harpeth River. 15 minutes to some of the trendier restaurants in "The Nations" area off Charlotte Avenue.
More things to do than time, but here's a list of some potential suggestions:
Nearby, if you don't want to drive much, there's a huge mall in the area. Redeveloped a few years ago and it has some really nice shops and restaurants.
The RozePony is a popular restaurant. Honeyfire BBQ is good as well.
The nearby Warner Parks System is an amazing park. You could just go walk around for hours.
I haven't been, but off HWY 100, maybe 20 minutes away, is the iconic Loveless Cafe for breakfast.
Now, depending upon traffic, it'd take you 20-30 minutes maybe to get into downtown Nashville. There are TONS of reviews on this site so you can do a search.
Quick list though:
Downtown:
If you like Civil War History, Ft. Negley is really cool.
Gazillion restaurants in the Gulch, off Broadway or in the nearby Germantown Area. Just do a Yelp. One of our favorites is 5th and Taylor.
Roof Top Bars are a "thing" in Nashville. Grab a drink and watch the view.
The Country Music Hall of Fame is worth a visit, as is the Ryman Auditorium.
We like the City Winery. Great music venue. Check if any of the acts are things you'd want to see.
The Bluebird Cafe in the Green Hills area is famous for country music acts.

You could do all of Nashville 3 times over in 2 nights
There’s not shot to do there

My daughter (no pics) is a grad student at Belmont and lives in Green Hills. She loves it and I'm sure your son will as well. She has hiked/walked a lot at Percy Warner and we've been to Radnor as well. There are lots of great parks nearby.
I agree that the Loveless Cafe is fun and from his part of town, you are quite close. That might be a fun brunch option.
If you want to go to Broadway, go early! Like right after 3 pm. It's so similar to Bourbon St in the way it changes as it gets later at night. Not that I'd feel unsafe, but later in the evening, it's just a bunch of drunks (lots of bachelorettes) bar hopping. But it's fun in the afternoon. All the bars have live music and some have it on multiple levels. We kind of like starting out and having drinks and maybe a charcuterie plate at 60 Vines. It doesn't feel like the rest of Broadway.
You can park at the downtown library garage on 6th street and Commerce. It's $10 after 5 and on the weekends and that's as cheap as you will get for parking. It's a short walk to Broadway.
We did love the Bluebird Cafe, but know that if you want to go there, you need advance tickets and they can be hard to get as the venue is extremely small.
If you want another nice music listening experience, try the Listening Room or 3rd and Lindsley.

Any input on the Wild Horse Saloon?
Staying at the Gaylord/Opryland Hotel for a conference.
Restaurants good there?

Wildhorse is down on 2nd Avenue off Broadway. I've been a few times, but bar hoppin' these days isn't my thing so I'm not the best source of info on that topic!

There's live music EVERYWHERE in this City. That's a good place to see a band. Lots of tables and seating over multiple floors. Food is good, not great. Line dancing if that's your thing.

The Gaylord/Opryland Hotel is HUGE. Right off the river. Maybe 30 minutes or less into town. Numerous restaurants and bars on the property. I've been to a few and they were good. You have to decide if you want to escape and venture out downtown or not! LINK

The Wild Horse Saloon is a honkytonk restaurant and bar. It's family friendly weekdays and until 10 pm on Friday and Saturday. If someone has some kids or teens that want to line dance, this is your place.
The Gaylord/Opryland is pretty far away from downtown Nashville. It's big and has a lot of stuff there, but if I were there for a conference, I'd probably want to take an evening and go downtown.

Thank you and Nole.
We will check into the Gaylord on Friday afternoon.
Saturday we have to schedule around a several football games. We may head into town to watch at least one in a bar.
Sunday we are picking up a colleague at the airport around noon. Maybe go into town then also.
Wild Horse sounds fun.
We have tix to the Grand Ole Opry Monday night through the conference.
Again, thanks.

Check out Acme Feed and Seed. Right on the river. Rooftop bar among other levels.
My favorite is LA Jackson.
In Germantown (near downtown), you might want to try Von Elrods!

12 south is probably my favorite area of Nashville, which is right next to Belmont. Great area with a bunch of locals and this guys daughter to hang out with.

LA Jackson is my daughter’s favorite as well. I can’t remember if it’s in 12 South or The Gulch.

She loves 12 South. She says she’s super spoiled in her Green Hills apt because she’ll never be able to afford a house there on her PT salary.

Down in the "Gulch" area, which is right by the railroad tracks off of 12th.

Try the Local near Vandy. Usually have great artists each weekend and the food is solid for a bar.
