Looking to take the wife (no pics) to the coast for two nights and stay somewhere with nice pool and preferably lazy river and swim up bar. Any suggestions on where to stay and more specifically anywhere to avoid.

The Lodge at Gulf State Park is pretty nice. In the Gulf Shores area. Have stayed there twice and have enjoyed it.

The pools at the Beau Rivage and the Hard Rock are pretty nice. The Hard Rock has a swim up bar.

It may be a little more low key than you're looking for (no lazy river or "swim up" bar - although, there's a bar right near the pool), but take a look at the Roost in Ocean Springs. Stayed at one of their sister properties recently (loved it, but it didn't have a pool at all), but had drinks at the Roost and thought it was quite lovely with it's pool setting.

The Golden Nugget has the best pool, but I’m not a fan of their rooms.
The Palace has a smaller pool, but it is much more private and overlooks the yachts on the Back Bay.
Not a fan of the Beau Rivage pool, especially when it’s crowded.

Centennial Plaza is pretty nice and has all of the above. Stayed there a few years ago with the wife and kids and we enjoyed it.

You can always stay at the Hollywood Casino Gulf Coast in Bay. St. Louis. They have a lazy river but I admit that I have never stayed there but going this weekend. Main Street has many restaurants and bars to visit.

The Centennial Plaza has got to have one of if not the WORST beds I've ever slept on in my life. Pool and swim up bar are great, but my body was wrecked after our weekend stay with the kids.

May as well just take her to the Pearl in BSL and skip the redneck lazy river and swim up bar.

We did the Oasis as well and the beds were not terrible. Only issue I had was they had those cheap pillows that as soon as you put your head down all of the material splits and you're basically putting your head on the mattress.
If your kids were smaller, how did you deal with the tubes in the lazy river. My kids were freaked out by them because they insisted on sitting on them by themselves, then as expected slipped through. Was surprised that a resort that basically advertises to families doesn't have tubes for young kids.

every time i try to book the oasis, there are plenty of rooms available when i put 2 adults. If I try to add in a kid, nothing available. Seems all the rooms are for 2 people total.
Can I just show up with the kid? He is 9

Have heard of people doing that and they just have the extra person hangout in the car. When we went, everyone stayed in the car while I checked in because the check in building is separate from buildings with all of the rooms
