I know it's one of the great food cities in the world. Any can't miss places for dinner? We will be there for five nights in June with day trips to Parma and Modena.

Thanks all!

I only spent a day there and unfortunately I do not remember the restaurants names.

I know I looked up one that was open for lunch that was known for its bolognese and it was good. In the main area we went to a place and did a tasting that included 3 different ages of parmesan, 3 different ages of balsamic, and 3 different wines, was awesome.

I know that's not helpful. Its a cool city though

Do you have a Parmesan cheese factory visit lined up? I’m not a huge cheese person but I loved the visit and tasting.

We will do a cheese factory and a balsamic vinegar factory and hopefully the Ferrari museum as well.

Take the 30 minute train ride to Modena and try OSTERIA FRANCESCANA. Chef is Massimo Bottura. At one time, rated the #1 restaurant in the world. If you can't get a reservation, keep checking as sometimes spots open up the week before.

Modena Franchesetta58 is really fantastic. In Bologna I had in my list Osteria AI 15 but didn’t make it there.

If you can make it to Ferrara, Trattoria de Noemi was one of the best meals we had in Italy.

Check Katie Parla’s website for all her bologna recs

If interested you should do a pasta class at the Academia de Sfoglia in Cento. Probably the best cultural experience I’ve ever had. In a nonna’s house, private, she speaks very little English but is able to teach you how to make pasta.

Trying to remember the name of the place we went to that had the best tortellini en brodo we had on our trip, but it must have closed. It was a Michelin 1 star, and just checked the guide but couldn't find it on the list or the Bib Gourmand.

We did a food walking tour through the Airbnb activities app, and the guide was fantastic. Did a pasta place, a market, a gelatto place, and then a beer hall. I can go try to find her name.

Bologna is a great city, and Modena was amazing as well.
