Looking for a place for our family vacation this summer. Prefer a place with kids waterslides and also a location where i could get in some scuba diving.
Dont want to shuck out the 12k for a week at beaches turks and caicos.
Last year we did two trips, one to cozumel for diving and one to orlando to hit blizzard beach and typhoon lagoon. Would love to do something in between and take one trip.
Any suggestions appreciated!

There’s that place in Nassau that I always see commercials for. Atlantis, I believe.

Yeah. There aren’t many water parks in the Caribbean.

I'm going to Hilton La Romana in the DR in late May. It's an all-inclusive with a waterpark, and there's a dive shop on property (I'm going to do a couple of dives too), but my understanding is that the diving isn't exactly the finest in the Caribbean.

The Atlantis is great for kids with several fun slides and a big pool for really young ones but it isn't inexpensive either. We've enjoyed the facilities a lot. Staff is not friendly though and nothing is inexpensive unless you leave the property and go across the bridge off of Paradise Island to Nassau. We still go to Atlantis and like it but we eat better and much cheaper in Nassau.

Atlantis is awesome for a family. Plenty of water slides for all ages. River that circles water park and it has places that really move. Something like 10-12 pools. Big seawater lagoon if you prefer a more natural sandy experience. A lot of walk around displays like Stingrays and fish in shallow pool displays. Kids enjoy it and feeding time is pretty cool. There is a casino there. Restaurants at Atlantis are fine… a bit pricey because they are resort prices. 5-10 min taxi ride to plenty of restaurants off site if you want.
There is also an events theatre.. hard to describe. Saw Michael Buble there once. Another trip we saw Ags basketball game as part of a tournament there. Might want to check out what is coming and book during that time if it works. Lots to do there.

Baha Mar's water park opened this fall. Not sure how it compares to Atlantis, but it has some good slides/rides.

You could go on a Royal Caribbean Cruise. They’ll take you to Coco Cay, which is their private island in the Bahamas with an awesome water park. Plus plenty of stuff for the kids, and you can get your alone time too.

Came in here to mention this. Haven't been there yet, but it looks cool. The last Royal cruise the wife and I did, before Coco Cay opened, we bought a day pass to Atlantis and floated a good portion of the day away on the lazy river.

I thought Atlantis was pretty run down. Certainly won't get bored with kids, and the aquarium and all that are cool, but I'd imagine Baha Mar or one of the newer resorts would be able to offer a better trip.

I went there two years ago. I’m not gonna lie, they call it “perfect day” and it truly was for me. I went to the water park, everything was all-inclusive as far as alcohol and food. Swam with some stingrays in the ocean after the water park, then chilled in their massive pool with a pool bar. They had a great DJ and everyone was wasted. I know cruises get ripped on, but that was one of my favorite vacations I’ve ever had. I’d suggest to anyone looking for a good time.

True. Don’t how much it is now, but it was only $50 a day for all you can drink. Well worth it for me. It beats any all inclusive in Cancun that charge you $200 to $300 a night.

Thanks this looks great. I just showed my wife the pics and she asked how i found it. I said a suggestion off tigerdroppings- lol. She looked at me kind of crazy. I said there is plenty helpful info here not just babe threads.
THis looks much more affordable than atlantis. i found one 3 night cruise out of orlando and we can also hit up blizzard beach and typhoon lagoon as well when the cruise returns. I can try to get in a dive in nassau off the cruise stop.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Coco Cay is awesome!
We’re heading back on an Oasis of the Seas sailing for Mardi Gras
A lot of the ships that sail there will also have slides and the Flowrider is fun as hell!!

I was down there about 6 months ago. I’ve been to Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon more times than I can count. I went to Blizzard Beach and Universals new water park this trip around. I’d strongly suggest Universals Volcano Bay if you haven’t been. It’s one of the best water parks I’ve been to in a while. I found Blizzard Beach to be a little boring compared to it. But Blizzard Beach may be more fun for the younger kids. I loved their kids zone when I was growing up.
