We know we are skiing Mardi Gras 2026 and I see passes are being sold for the 25-26 season right now. Is there a reason to wait for a sale or should I just go ahead and buy now? We’d have 8 people skiing 3 days

I get emails from Epic Pass saying that buying early gets you the best price. I’ve never bought one so I only know what’s advertised.

No. Buying early is the “sale”. They get more expensive as the year goes on.

Same for ikon.

I’ve only bought twice but as said usually early is better but not always, I’m pretty sure this past year they ran some sales last minute to book out.

Your issue is only 3 days though, they won’t have many sales for that as they basically know those are week/ weekend trip people with money. The bigger sales seem to be on the longer and seasonal passes.

Buy the season pass now and the price is the lowest it’ll be. You also get 10 Buddy tickets and Ski with Friend tickets. Those perks disappear if buying later and the season pass price increases before cutting off sales in September maybe. The sweet spot to justify the season pass is about 3 days of skiing, depending on the resort [check the cost of a 3-day pass]. I think the current season pass is $1051. I skied at more than one Epic resort and bought a season pass for the adults. For MG, I then used the 45% discounted Buddy passes for my kids. Was cheaper than a 3-day pass or season pass for them. Have to go to the window to buy, but minimal hassle.

No sales & they get progressively more expensive until they close the window to buy anything but single day lift tickets at full price. Buy as soon as you know how many days you're skiing in a season.

You can buy single day epic passes for up to a week, after that you're better off getting the local pass if not the full pass. The local pass is under $800 and only has a few black out dates BUT Mardi Gras does fall on presidents day weekend next year so that Saturday and Sunday are blacked out on the local pass BUT can be added on. Were just going to something else on that Sunday and start skiing on Monday.

The other benefit to the local or annual pass is the buddy and ski with a friend tickets which have lost ALOT of value over the years but if you wait until after April 13, you won't get any of those which can help if someone decides to be a late add on to the trip.

$49 down now and pay it off later or you can pay it off over time for like $66/month.
