My nephew is playing in a baseball tourney in Missouri In July and on the way back, we want to meet them somewhere in Arkansas for a long weekend. We really enjoyed being in the mountains in Gatlinburg. Are there any places in Arkansas that we can rent a cabin and hike/fish/sight see in a park similar to the Smokey mountains in East Tennessee?

6 boys 3-12 years old.

Check out the Jasper area. Plenty of outdoor stuff to do, and it's beautiful. Prices much more reasonable than Tn.
Not nearly as "touristy"

What part of Missouri are they playing in? Quite a few cool places along the Missouri/Arky border as far as lakes and hiking are concerned.

For camping. Not for cabins. Even the camping is open if you have a camper, just not tent camping.

The road dead ends at Buffalo City. The White River intersects with the Buffalo River around the corner. Beautiful scenery and you can catch Trout in the White or Smallmouth in the Buffalo or both.

Mount Magazine state park has a hotel style lodge and several cabins. All on a cliff looking over a valley.

Azalea Falls Lodge is a private place that is good for groups. We rented a big as house that can hold two families, but just for two of us. It was off season so pretty cheap. They have other options too. LINK

Buffalo Outdoor Center at Ponca: cabins, ziplines, hiking, floating, fishing, mountain biking.

Horseshoe Canyon is also a nice option but it's more of a Dude Ranch type experience.
